Recently the retailer I work for has started requiring sales associates from other stores to turn over sales of certain brands to associates in competing stores to inflate sales for that particular brand in that store. In doing so the employee passing on the purchase forfeits a substantial sale addition on their SPH (Sales Per Hour) goal and also commission for that purchase amount. My team and myself have been given a goal of 10 items in the $400 range to pass off to another store in our district. We will not get credit for these sales and are also expected to provide the full name, address, and credit card information of our top clients who may be willing to purchase said items. This is obviously unethical of my company, and would be unethical of me to provide my clients information to a complete stranger. It would also be a…
I'm trying to leave my current job since I have to handle several people's workload and very underpaid. I called my boss to tell him about my resignation so I can give a three week heads up to plan for the transition (I'm the only person managing some of the most critical systems with no backup, so shit's going to be messy once I leave. Company is cheap but I had some really nice team members and I don't want to give them too much trouble). He asked me to think about it and meet again on the next day which I should probably rejected. Now he's just refusing to communicate with me at all. He ignores my emails, pings/meeting requests on teams and don't pick up my phone calls. I know he's still available since all the messages are read. Due to the wfh situation now I don't have…
I work for a major company whose products people use on daily basis. I'm one of the managers in our department (started 3 months ago). Each manager has their team and responsible for different things. Unfortunately, I have no say in our workers' pay or return to the office. Our workers get paid shit: $20 (think of NYC, LA). Our competitors are paying at least $23 AND they allow remote work. Our jobs CAN be done remotely but the CEO mandated return to the office for in person collaboration. On top of that our hours are horrid! Midnight to 8.30 in the morning, 04am to 12.30 noon etc. The CEO asked us to return to the office at least 2 days a week. Guess what my head of department made our workers do? 3 days!!!! Our workers have been dropping like flies as they're getting offered better pay and flexibility.…

Is this Legal? Or did I win the lottery?
So, like the rest of us, I am f***ing tired of being the hardest working employee at my job, as well as a licensed practitioner, and only making a few cents above minimum wage. If im going to have to work for minimum wage until I finish my degree, I would at least like the luxury of working from home that basically every single person outside of retail gets now. I am a licensed esthetician working in retail right now as an esthetician. I am working on my degree, majoring in fashion merchandising, which is a degree that can be used to get jobs in product development or as an assistant cosmetic buyer for a company. I'm very interested in the science of skincare but also really good at administrative stuff and staying organized and productive. Can anyone think of any type of job that I could look for while…
Hi, I originally posted to r/legaladviceuk but no one replied. I want to help the driver and anyone else getting screwed by the company. Please let me know anything I should know. I'm emailing them and the council. Hello, I work for an NHS hospital and live near the park and ride which is free for nhs staff (very handy). Every day i show my work ID and I'm given a ticket which says “NHS £0.00”. Last week when I, my colleague and a member from a different department got on he recognised us and had 3 tickets waiting. We all took one but luckily before I sat down I noticed it said “Single – £1.55”. I queried this and the driver said the computer had been doing that all day. He said couldnt take undo them all on the screen only the most recent one. He tried to then…
I like this type of movie. American Beauty is one example. I want to watch more.
Some advice please.
I’m pretty new to the corporate world that isn’t unionized. I need a raise. I can’t afford to work for this company without 1. But who do I talk to? My manager? HR? Store director?
Does my employer own my email address?
I'll be leaving my current employer next week for a new job that came available. I currently use a live.com email address for work. This email address isn't on a company server nor is it tied to a website. I have to go to outlook.com in order to access it. The last time I switched jobs (I ended up coming back to this one), my employer said that I would have to give up my email address to them. I refused as I have other account tied to this one. I feel like this may happen again and I want to make sure before they try to force it somehow. For example, my email address looks like: [email protected]
