There's alot of work places out there where you have to pick up the slack and work twice as hard when someone leaves you hangin. My job is the complete opposite. I operate 8 different machines with the help of another person but if the person I'm working with leaves (which is all the time), they just tell me to do what I can and no big deal if it runs like shit. So I pretty much get to sit around all night doin a half ass job acting like my machines are just running bad. No consequences. Just a pat on the back and thanks for trying.
For context, I’m REALLY good at finding information about people and finding people in general. Whenever I start a new job, I look into the part of the person I’m working for. They do background checks on me so why not do the same? It’s interesting the things you can find out about people. Nothing invasive but just enough info to make sure that the person I’m working for is worth working for. So I mentioned this to coworkers and they thought it was weird. Maybe it is. Is it?

I understand there are bad bosses and toxic work environments out there but do people really think that they can just not work? Do they realize the irony that everything in their life requires someone to work. You can even post on here without using electricity, the internet and a device that connects you to it. But require a bunch of people to work

Got an email from my boss earlier today that they moved my Friday evening shift to Saturday AM/Night shift. So I will be missing out on the extra Stat pay for Good Friday and be sleep deprived for the rest of the weekend. Oh and the new shift location is an extra 20 mins from my house. It's not the first time and I know it won't be the last. I hate work.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole point of retail stores closing early on holidays is so the employees can go home and celebrate with their families, right?? We normally close at 9 on Thursdays and stay til 10 to do the cleaning and stuff but today we closed at 8 “for Passover” and they still made us stay til 10?? Whats the point??
