Over the past few months, I’ve been reading a lot of posts on here about horrible bosses, job hopping, etc and I wanted the community’s opinion on pensions. If a company or organization is willing to pay a pension after 10/15/20/25 years, is that reason enough to stay there until you retire? There aren’t very many businesses that still pay pensions. Here in Ontario, I only know of a few, and the bulk of them are government. This leads to another question, why don’t companies still pay pensions? Do they not realize that this is incentive for an employee to stay with their organization? Thanks!
I work(ed) at a gambling company. So already didn’t choose a nice place to be employed, but at the start it looked like good money for easy work. Was promised weekend pay, public holiday pay and overnight pay, AU$65k a year, so pretty decent. Phone betting operator, so just placing live bets for people, all customer service/IT issues could be transferred to somebody else. Thought it should still be fine, was notified by my TL that I should only work one weekend out of 6, and public holidays only if nobody else was available. Again, that was a lie, he apparently meant I would only get one weekend out of six OFF of…
U.S. Healthcare and Dentistry is a SCAM.
US Healthcare and dentistry is such a joke. I have insurance but it’s shit and I’m barely an adult (it’s my dads insurance). My wisdom teeth were infected and causing me massive pain so I went to the dentist for an emergency extraction. I got hit with a 1300 bill AFTER insurance. And then they told me I needed a root canal and asked me why I didn’t go to the dentist sooner. This is why. A couple months later, I go to a new more affordable dentist and my tooth is wayyyy worse and I’m probably gonna be paying out of pocket for it. And guess what! They don’t take my insurance so I’ll be paying at least 500 upfront! 😀 I should NOT need a college degree to afford proper dental care and a place to live in the U.S., plus buy groceries, and pay bills. Now I…
Which was fucking refreshing. Aced the interview and I’ve been working there since that day. I truly enjoy knowing that not only are my coworkers fully vaccinated, but that I’m not going to have to hear a single sentence that begins with “I don’t believe in vaccines because…”
