About a month back, I started a new job at an auction house near me after having to leave my prior job due to the strain it was having on me financially (I was working for cash under the table and was spending about a third of what I made just to commute) and since starting at my new job, my boss has been giving me a ton of red flags. For context, I am on the spectrum, and have a whole slew of mental issues on top of that, all of which has been communicated to him, but it feels as though I'm being punished for not being completely up to speed already. If you want to change the tip system in America, fine, I'm with you. But for you to just stop tipping before actually changing that system, well, that makes you an absolute dirtbag piece of shit, on par with upper management and landlords. You have literally ONE CHANCE to prove you're better than all these grimy employers and you just can't bring yourself to ensure that the person whose job is created by your demand gets a fair wage. If you were anywhere near as principled as you claim to be, you'd write off the American financial system as a whole and just stop using money altogether. But no, your principles end when you're the one with the lighter wallet. Fuck anybody who even THINKS the above applies to them; I have nothing to say to you past that.

I received an email from a recruiter to interview for a job out of my area and skillset. Employer is a law firm Guess how much they want to pay? (Oh and it’s an HR job that really sounds like accounting, payroll, and paralegal) A criminal and credit background check and a drug test is required. Microsoft office — Excel QuickBooks Bank Reconciliation AP & AR Experience with General Ledger Managing eligibility of benefits. Maintaining personnel employee files Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred Previous experience in billing, finance, and/or human resources Law experience Any guesses? Recruiter told me it was $14 an hour, but could go as high as $16 if you had all these qualifications. They are so desperate, they are emailing anyone with a pulse. I said if they come to their senses and are offering $35 an hour to contact me. I am completely unqualified for this job.
