Background information : I (24 F) work in a preschool. It’s a small company. The owner is an older lady in her 70’s, and the office is run by two women who happen to be BFF’s. I was originally an aide, but the lead teacher quit in November and they asked me to take over. When I was the aide, I was making $10/hr. Now, I make $12.50. No benefits whatsoever. We don’t even have direct deposit which is super annoying. I got an aid shortly after I moved up. Things were great for the most part. She was absolutely amazing and helped me a ton. Couple months later, a lead teacher was let go. So, now they needed someone to cover that room and they offered it to my aide, and she took it. I don’t blame her as it is more money and a better position. Now here’s…
They love to mention that corporations will just go to automated and therefore cut them out, why can’t we as a people get together and just refuse to go to places that do this to prevent having to pay us a reasonable amount. At some point we need to dig in and stop getting fucked over by these corporations. Same with oh cost of living will just go up only patronize those stores with reasonable prices, we can’t keep letting them suppress us
Employment physicals
I am currently being offered a job in a childcare facility but I have to get an employment physical. I have no insurance. How is someone supposed to get a job that requires a physical when they can't go to the doctor?
We were pretty pissed when we learned one of our clients was Fox News.
Clock Watchers
Is there anything worse than a clockwatcher boss? Last week I stepped into work right at 8:00 am. Her computer said 8:01. She freaked out about me needing to text her if I'm going to be late. This is a woman that makes us take 30 minutes out of our day to do a “listening activity” “game” each week. But I can't be 2 seconds past 8 in the door? I just transitioned into this job and I already hate it.
I work for a security company in mandan bismarck now and I'll get paid the 15th of april as they hold two weeks like usual. But I am paid $17/hr for 30 hrs. 10 hr workdays in 3 days. And I can get more work through them when available () Anyway I can work at pizzahut tonight but as its still 7.25/hr for delivery, I'd only make 100 to 200 depending on tips, probably under that as I am using the tips I earned during winter as reference. Problem is with the increased gas prices, it'd be using 80 to 120 for filling up afterwards. () Also worried as more people are doing tip baiting. I;e tip $10 to to $15, deliver food, the take tip away. So really I'd only be making $7.25/hr. () Also, kinda was getting tired of pizzahut. Was hurting my back a lot, and waiting…
Must pay for parking daily
Lots of words for cold calling
I love what I do and the people I work with. Pay is exceptional and coworkers are a great team. My skills are utilized well and I feel accomplished when a goal is met. But I feel my employer is making decisions for the business that make me uncomfortable ethically. Nothing illegal or harmful to people, but the choices made are impacting the level of quality and service drastically. It’s not the same business I joined a few years ago. Each time I voice my concerns I get thrown more money and they hire more people to divide my work. I can’t get them to understand that my feelings don’t stem from stress or being overworked/under appreciated. My heart is hurting. It is not possible for me to find similar work elsewhere, I will have to make some major changes and change industries to find other work, likely for less…
Terrible recruiters.
So a month ago, I get a call from a recruiter about a software development job. He seemed impressed with my application and said that he would reach out to me in no later than two days. Well two days go by, nothing. I call a couple times, no answer. I email, no answer. A week or two goes by and I text him because his number was listed on his email signature asking about why he hasn’t been in contact with me. He replies back apologizing saying he’s been out due to a personal emergency and will get back with me when he is in office that following week. I tell him okay no worries hope all is well. Another week passes, and nothing, no replies to my emails nor messages. In the meantime a recruiter from the same company messages me on LinkedIn asking me to set up…
