I work at a coffee shop. Small and locally owned. The owner has a sister. She’s always coming in acting like she owns the place and treating us like her employees even though she has absolutely no stake in the business whatsoever. She comes in today when we have a huge line of people out the door. She skips the line and demands I ring her up. So I do because I know she’s the owners sister and she’ll freak if I step out of line. I ring her up without saying much and give her her change. For all us clock punchers, who may not have a 'set schedule' or even if you do, When supervisor/management asks… 'Are you working tomorrow?” The correct answer if you are, 'I am on the schedule'

I'm not sure what to do here. There's a settlement towards my previous employer that I got a notice of today. It's for anyone that worked between a time of a few years. I looked over the documents that I received and it seems like no matter what I get a pay out if I opt in or not. If not it's only $25. I don't have money for a lawyer to look over it or ask the specific details of the case. Not really sure what to do.

So, I'm an officer at a prison, been working at this job for 3 years in October. It just got brought to my attention that someone told our supervisors that I allegedly called another person a bitch and also allegedly said that I wish they would die of the Big C. The issue is, I did neither of those things, but this may be looked at harshly enough where I may not be given a chance to defend myself. I honestly don't know what to do
