Almost me and all my friends were given 0.25-0.50 cent raises working at Panda Express, which is a billion dollar company. My good friend was working here for six years now and she was only raised $1.50. In six years. Couldn’t raise her by $2. Once she called in Human Resources asking if she could get a proper raise they told her “well! not our problem because managers raise off YOUR performance!” Oh and mind you, for her 6th year anniversary she got nothing but a small panda badge. Who tf wants this? Does management not know that the business wouldn’t be running without the employees? Panda Express is horrid, atleast in my experience.

The ability to work remotely when the job can easily, perhaps more effectively, be done from home is a major determining factor for most of us now. Interviewed for a PM role that I came highly recommended for. During the interview I was asked where I’m located, which is a solid 45-1 hour commute one way from main office. I followed up by inquiring about the expectations to be in office (I was originally told one day a week at most, which I didn’t have a problem with). A few years ago this would have made me selfishly angry, but now I've ran into it three different times and every time it makes me happy. Knowing that people were able to bet on themselves enough to leave what must have been a shit job gives me at least a little hope that we can do at least something. I'd be lying if I said there was no schadenfreude involved in watching the boomers grumble as they doddle back to their cars, but overall it's great seeing people with enough agency to give two fingers to abusive management.

Issue is in the title. In December of 2020, I (29M) was experiencing heart problems and very bad mental health issues, specifically due to the job. I was working 15 hour days with little to no help, and it was killing me, physically and emotionally. Near the end of the year, I decided I was going to kill myself, as I saw no way out. I'm fine now, I got a lot of help and was told to take 1 month off for doctor ordered recovery and mandatory therapy. Fast forward to now, my new boss (who honestly is great) told me today that when he was brought in, my old boss and one of my team mates went on at length about my “attendance issues”. So, I work in a mental hospital and I’m not able to leave the unit at all during my shift. I had just gotten done telling my coworker that I can’t eat pork etc… because I have a kosher diet. Because I can’t leave the unit, my coworkers have to bring up my food. When she gave me the food, there were meatballs in my meal and I asked her what meat it was and she said beef, to which I asked if she knew that for sure and she said that the sign said beef. However, I later found out that the meatballs were pork. Now, I’ve had my issues with this coworker and she’s been a surreal megabitch recently. My co-worker who was 17 at the time got groomed by my boss who gave her bonuses and money etc. for sexual pleasures. She tried to resist the abuse but her boss threatened to fire her.
