Memo from pet hospital manager
Background: constantly exploited at my salon & didnt want to deal with a rude, rich. I don’t get paid to sit around & overall just hate my job. Clients are rich, well off Karens who’s trust fund kids cause me anxiety and are just disrespectful to service providers. I got the vibe from this trust fund college girl that whatever I’d do on her she’d hate- she came in saying everyone who does her hair she always hates it. Not even letting me talk although she had booked a consultation. So I had my boyfriend call in acting as my landlord saying I had a pipe leak. He is always telling me this place doesn’t serve me right & that doing this one time will show the true colors of the client & my bosses. My boss didn’t deliver my message with urgency like expected and the client had the…
So I’m currently just a server at a small restaurant owned by a couple of NBA players while I finish my bachelors degree. I’ve noticed over the last year of me working there that I’m typically the only person who speaks out against mistreatment or has the balls to tell a manager that what they are doing is wrong. While I have never done or said anything to warrant firing me, I have gotten on their bad side because I don’t let them walk all over me or talk to me like an idiot. I’ve advocated for my coworkers many times as well when they tried to make them pay for a tables entire tab when they dined and dashed (illegal) or clocked them out for a break they did not take (wage theft). When one of my managers, who is totally moronic and can’t handle an ounce of stress…

Promotion mind fuck
Long story short: I'm a welder for a structural steel shop. I've worked my ass off for the last 5 years. I've consistently been given more responsibility without wage increases. I did it because I was told it would pay off. Last week I got pulled into the office and offered a foreman position. I've worked side by side with 3 different foremen, seen the games my company plays, and ain't about that shit. Remember, my employer came to me for this promotion. I make $27.50 an hour and $1.50 of that is a shift differential. These mother fuckers had the audacity to try to shove me into this position with no pay increase, and started the meeting off with unsubstantiated criticism about my attitude of late (stopped working 65 hrs a week) and said I had too many issues with coworkers. I asked for examples, they had none. Btw…
I've been in a rather toxic work environment for the past three months. I just got a new job, and despite the toxicity of the old job I gave them notice. My treatment got worse so I decided to no call no show for the remainder of my notice. The owner of the franchise called and texted me multiple times at what I was doing, so I decided to text her back. I texted her: “I am no longer willing to sell my labor to Jimmy John's. There have been non-stop predatory practices and questionable decisions made by management that have made it so I am not longer willing or able to sell my time and effort. For starters, every single paycheck I have recieved has been slightly off, either the numbers don't add up or lump sums have been missing. This would be fine, if it were not also…
