So apparently our company needs to save money so they have been making cuts and modifications to our schedules. I used to be working 37 hours a week. I wasn’t getting the best shifts but I at least got 1-2 good shifts a week. Now I’m at 27 hours a week and I’m only getting the worst shifts. I don’t want to be too specific. Anyways we have an opening shift and a closing shift. The opening shift is much more desirable. The opening shift gets 10-15 times the amount of cash tips than the closing shift, yet the closing shift is responsible for cleaning everything up, doing all the hard work. I have only been getting closing shifts since they started this new schedule. They are giving preferential treatment to the other employees and giving me all the shit because my schedule is more versatile I suppose. Anyways I…
The interviewer said it's part of the company culture. The annual salary is paid for working Monday to Friday 9-5 but everyone comes in Saturday as well. Edit: She said it's the employees' own choice to work Saturdays so I guess there's nothing the Department of Labor can do.
The message of her getting onto him about the situation So, my buddy worked for a “Work From Home” outbound call company, I used to work for them as well, and part of their training is “If a customer says anything that can even be construed as 'Stop calling me', then you say 'have a good day' and you list them as Do Not Call.” This is obviously due to the very strict laws here in the US that you cannot solicit someone who has requested that you not call them. He did as instructed and found out that he was being reprimanded in his messages by his boss, stating he needed to “rebuttal” these Do Not Calls and try to get them to stick on the line. He messaged me and I told him to save as much as he can and report it to his management. As…
I had an interview yesterday with a company who had a job posted on Indeed for a receptionist position. Well, get into the interview and not only is it a group interview, but it is a freaking sales position, not a receptionist position. Why TF do they feel it’s ok to waste peoples time like that? I have been applying to jobs for months with nothing and felt hopeful, but this just killed that motivation and hope.
I'm very neutral and “unwoke” so to say, I literally don't care what goes on with other people, but get mad when people try to interfere with my neutral lifestyle. So the thing about male privilege, I never really bought it until recently. I dropped out of university as well as a college program, wound up working a temp job for a large company making 40k after 6 years working at a hardware store. Now I have pinballed for a couple years, gotten a certification payed by my company… and I just accepted a new job offer of a flat salaried position of $95k, with up to a 10 000 bonus ontop of that, and the work is honestly very easy for me. I just turned 26. Thats with no education besides highschool, just a strong interview… my wife to be, who studied and graduated form athletic therapy and is…
Fuck this dystopian oligarchy
We live out our lives working jobs that have to be done and so the rich can suck up all the revenue and then make us have to work harder to pay more for everything so the rich can make even more money. not to mention low taxes as well as avoiding them so these greedy bastards can have more . I fucking love this sub fuck those rich assholes
I, 27m have been working at my small town ISP for just under 2.5 years. Ive gotten $1.50 raise each year after the start of the year and am currently being paid pretty well for rural Iowa. I started with 2 coworkers both over 65 years old that we're basically computer illiterate. I learned how to do literally everything at the company within the first 4 months before one of my coworkers retired. My other coworker was set to retire the next year, so they hired yet another boomer, 58 years old. He was hired because he supposedly has “25 years old experience in the industry.” When he got here and started, it was clear that he didn't know a fucking thing. He worked on copper wiring at his old job, and we're all fiber optic. He also doesn't know how to use a computer or check emails. Hell, we…
Papa Johns has no shame!
Sooo you guys might remember my post from a couple months ago, I was the GM who got fired from Papa Johns after 13 years for closing the store down 3 hours early to tend to my sick/elderly father. Well, I have been waiting on my unemployment benefits for about 12 weeks now, while also looking for a new job, but today I got news from the UI office that Papa Johns is challenging my benefits because I “knew that I would be terminated upon closing the store early.” They even went as far as to claim that I wasn't dealing with any medical issue nor was I helping anybody, I merely had dinner reservations with my brother. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A BROTHER! It blows my mind that they completely lied on the UI form and now my benefits may be blocked. I'd have to get my lawyer to…
