I've been working (remote) for my company for just over 3 years now. I started off at a decent salary, but I have never received a raise. When I interviewed for the position I asked all of the important questions about salary, benefits, etc. – except one. I figured that yearly performance reviews and raises were pretty standard and I had never worked for a company that didn't do that, so I neglected to ask if I'd ever get a raise… The owners of the company think that just increasing the yearly bonus every year is good enough and they shouldn't need to worry about raises. Well, the problem is that in reality the bonus just isn't good enough. New tasks after taking vacation.

I'm on mobile so bare with me. I work for a fairly known fitness company as an audio/video technician. I just got back from a trip and missed an important meeting. Apparently, management is asking us to start “helping” with cleaning and setting up the fitness equipment (Bike, Treadmill). They have always had people that work at the front desk that have been doing this ever since I started working here. Two of them have recently left and are down to only 4 people. They don't want to hire/replace the people that left and are asking us, the techs, to “help” pick up the load. We are busy as it is and to do this would just not be feasible without leaving some the work we already do unattended. I have yet to speak to my manager about this but this is just something I'm not happy about doing, nobody…

Government job did not approve Bereavement Leave for “step” grandparent who has been a part of my life, my whole life.

I’ve been working for the government for over 8 years now. Per the policy, Bereavement leave shall be granted upon the death of a member of their immediate family. Immediate family is defined as “an employee’s spouse, significant other, parents, children, grandparents, siblings, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, or a league guardian or other parent who stands in the place of a parent.” My step-grandfather who brought my grandma and her two teenage sons to the United States during the Vietnam War is not considered an immediate family. I’m 30 years old and he has been married to my grandma since 1972 (50 years this year). He just passed away last week. He has been there since the day I was born and I have never met my “real” grandfather. I never thought of him as a step-grandfather. My dad stated on the obituary that…

Jobs claiming to be paid but in the interview are 100% commission.

Well just attempted to have a zoom interview that was advertised as $63k per year. Get to the interview and find out it’s 100% commission with a great benefit package of none. You would be a contractor and not an employee and would have no worker rights.

My part time full time job

My Part time job is starting to drive me crazy. I am expected to be available to work any day of the week and occasional dumb shifts like 2pm to 10pm when it's normally 8-4 or 9-5. Oh, and did I mention that it's an hour commute? How am I supposed to have another job or do anything else while working at this place? If they don't even take days of availability they should just go ahead and make me full time and have me work 40 hours. And even then I'd say no if they tried to make me salary like my supervisor who they expect to work till all the work is done. Not to mention that I got sick this week so missed a day of work and felt obligated to come in today even tho I am still sick because I don't get sick time and…

Yesterday my manager went on a power trip and literally pissed off her whole staff by telling us “we can’t have our phones on the floor” at our minimum wage job 🤣 like we literally hit record numbers and she tells us “that we need more coaching and recap” for our RETAIL JOB SELLING DOG FOOD. like we are hitting our number Our results are getting done: leave us the fuck alone you Nazi micromanaging bitch Jesus Christ. The make rent every month or be evicted model is fucked up.

We all know this but I just recently internalized it. What if I can't function for a few weeks due to depression? My employer won't give sick leave for that unless I'm checked into a mental imhealth institution. During covid I was out of action for close to a month. If I had been unemployed or in america at that time I would be homeless now in all probability.
