Anyone else feel like they can never fit in at work?

Just curious to see if anyone else is like me in regards to never fitting in anywhere I have ever worked. It's the same thing always. The job starts off fine and after a year or so I just get pushed away from promotions and given all the menial jobs to do. Oh everyone assures me I do a fine job but I never reap the reward.

I don’t remember them offering any of that except weekly pay when I worked there.

Out of Touch Parents

DO NOT BASH ON MY FAMILY AS I LOVE THEM DEARLY. THEY JUST ARE OUT OF TOUCH SOMETIMES Prepare for a rant because I am pissed. Also, my girlfriend and I live with my parents as the housing market has tripled in the last 5 years. In December of '20, I was diagnosed with Covid, and it was awful. I've had lung and heart issues stemming from it, albeit not major. But enough that it concerned my doctor enough to send me to a specialist for diagnostic tests. Well, flash forward 1 1/2 years, and I still haven't had my echocardiogram because insurance won't approve it. 4 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with covid again, and thankfully, I was asymptotic but still had to miss 10 days of work because my employer doesn't follow CDC guidelines anymore. While it sucked, I got through it. I had just enough sick time…

Taking Work Breaks Under NY State Law

For the past 2 years I have been combining my lunch break with my 2 15 minute breaks, taking an hour to walk with my girlfriend. This has never once been an issue. Apparently it's not allowed under NY state labor laws. The breaks have to be broken up. My manager recently bitched at me about my breaks, even though it doesn't hurt anything. So my question is, does anyone know how long you have to work between breaks before you take your next break, in accordance to NY state labor laws? I would very much like to come back to work for 10 minutes only to leave again for 20. Having the law back it up would be great to have for any arguments that may come from that. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Yep. Paycheck is still late.

Since my last post, I'm trying to at least give two weeks' notice before I quit. I've called off two days in a row, because I just can't get there without my paycheck. I told them that I needed it, and they said that it “could take 1-7 business days for the funds to return to the account” so that they could re-issue the check. How am I supposed to fill my tank to get to work? I can't just keep borrowing money from my parents. I'd quit if I was strong enough, but I'm just waiting for them to fire me at this point. They've been unbelievably rude to blame me for this. I've never worked a job that gave physical checks this late. It's obvious that they're not issuing them, because the FedExed check got here just fine. And I got my first check. What's the likelihood that…

90 Day Probation

So im in my first 90 & already had to miss a day to move myself to a new place out of my fams place & now im sick. Going to get COVID test but even if its negative i dk if im do a full shift. I mean imagine getting terminated bc u missed too many days in ur first 90. And i have one of those bosses that has trust issues. The whole 90 day thing is a joke & in a time when employers are hurting for workers u out here going to be firing people bc of a rule wether they have legit excuses? Really? EDIT: this is why people show up to work sick. Also being in 90 means ur ineligible for benefits so theres no incentive to go to doc

Needing a vent – sick dog

I work in an industry that is extremely emotionally taxing and see shitty things on an almost daily basis. There is a high turn over rate and in my almost 4 years there, I’ve been on my team the longest and have gone through 6 supervisors. I’m lucky to have a wonderful support network, wonderful husband and three wonderful dogs, Petro who is 17.5 years old and has some health issues; Salsa who is a rescue and assumed to be 11 and in congenital heart failure; Avenger who is almost 8 and up until recently didn’t have any medical issues. We also can’t have kids so we treat our pups like they are our kids (as much as possible). Yesterday we were woken up what we thought was Petro falling off the bed. Turns out it was Avenger having an episode (we aren’t sure what actually happened, both the emergency…
