My co-worker was pregnant and had to undergo cervical cerclage, a medical procedure that stiches the opening of the uterus to prevent miscarriage. Ou boss insisted that she had to keep working, but that was already the third trimester of pregnancy, and they did not release my friend of duty. I offered myself to help, and took most of her job, and, fortunately, the baby was born. If she had lost the baby, what would the boss say 'I'm sorry'? Later, this very boss was promoted to a higher position because of her 'productivity'. My friend left her job, and never returned to work.

Any help would be appreciated. I have a co-worker who was with our company for at least a decade if not more. While I’m training for a new position she suffered a medical issue that put her in the hospital. She followed procedure and was granted a medical leave. However, while on leave she she was forced to resign. She is now out of the hospital everything is fine and her leave is up on Monday. They have made her reapply to the company. She has lost all her bonuses and tenure, basically starting over as a new employee, even needing to interview. They offered her a crap position with crap hours and she declined due to the hours. Now they want her to come back on Monday after her leave is expired to look for a different position but the whole thing seems super shady to me and wrong…

I don't know how to start this besides saying that this may be along post, I'll leave a TL:DR at the bottom of the post just in case. So I browsed this sub for awhile and read a lot of stories of peoples struggles with their jobs and the complete incompetence that is shown from others managers and higher ups. I literally just wanted a sick note until Tuesday because I can't stop coughing and I was physically sick last night twice from the coughing. My GP won't give me a sick note because it's COVID and I don't have to isolate, I wasn't asking about isolating I was saying I'm physically too sick to work. I'm a cashier and worked the whole pandemic to just not even be able to get a few days of sick. Even if the doctor did give me a note ssp is only what £96? So I just picked a call center job. The pay is surprisingly good given my Central European shithole of a country. The training period lasts 1 month in total, I'm 2 weeks in already, and I've been putting in just the bare minimum effort. God this shit is boring as hell. A year and a half ago I moved 1700 miles to what I thought was going to be the coolest and best job I could possibly get.
