I've been lying on my UI forms and just reading books while claiming to be looking for work. The books are on customer service and how to start your own business. But the capital it takes is just more than I have in savings. My credit score is excellent but because of student loans, my debt to income ratio makes me ineligible for the funds to start even the most cost effective business plan. Just to rub salt in the wound, my asshole rich-kid childhood friend is starting his 5th (FIFTH!!!) business after the first four failed, and bankrupted him… four fucking times. But he has no student loan debt weighing him down, and a BA degree from a party college. He has never paid a single employee more than minimum wage and still went bankrupt FOUR FUCKING TIMES!!!! But, there he is on my FB, posting about his new…
no paycheck is worth your life.

7 days a week until July.
My boss just told everyone that we're going g to be working 7 week until July and 3 of the 7 days are 12 hour shifts ,I am most certainly not doing all of that time to look for a new job I'm not sacrificing my life and my body for a job.
i’m so sick of job hunting.
i recently got a minimum wage job(beginning of january) and i’ve been actually enjoying work. i mostly just stock shelves and cashier but it’s easy work and the customers are mostly nice. today i was supposed to work 10-6 and about an hour after i got there my manager called me into his office. i thought i was in trouble bc i missed a shift last week bc of a migraine. turns out all of our hours are getting cut. we work in a BIG store and it takes a lot to keep it stocked, cleaned, etc. however corporate doesn’t think our store needs as many people as we have most shifts, so they’re cutting our payroll funding. now we’re supposed to have a skeleton crew (1 manager and 1 cashier) every shift with minimal overlap. that means that part time workers (like me and a few other coworkers with…
To hell with social distancing I guess
Today one of my supervisors decided I wasn't cooking pancakes fast enough, so she came into the kitchen and stood shoulder to shoulder with me watching them cook. I asked her if she wanted to take over cooking, and she said no.
I work in childcare and just gave my two weeks since I’m changing careers. My boss was talking to me today and said, “just wait, you’ll be back here working in six months’ time because you’ll be pregnant. Are you on any form of birth control?” Jokes on her because I’m in a relationship with another girl, so obviously I can’t get pregnant! Also thought it was weird she was asking about my sexual health, but I’m never seeing her again so fuck it.
I have been self-employed for the past 7 years. The pandemic pretty much ended that dream. Prior to that, I spend many years as a corporate supervisor, I ran an entire department. I was a project manager, a business analyst, I even taught post-secondary education. I have a bachelors degree and tons of high level work experience. And I cannot find a job to save my life. I honestly did not think I would have a problem jumping back into the workforce, given my background. I am convinced all these job postings are just for looks.
Is there any other doable way?
