I recently was hired to work for a company that handles how shall I say, less than capable or desirable people are helped by us to find volunteer opportunities or part time employment. The problem is I was never told that part of my job would be watching somebody clean tables at mcdonald's all day, and showing them how to mop, sweep and clean toilets, basically doing half the work for them. 2 different employees have wondered why I even work here and told me I can do better.
Brain fog after work
I costantly have brain fog after 9 to 5 job. Specifically increase on Friday. Then saturday and sunday, I feel gradually more on focus. What is the job doing to us?
“We are here to build relationships, morale, and community through fun social gatherings and events” I hate corporate America so much, this was just posted in the intercompany social media they made(yes, I have work social media that's only for work people). How tone deaf are they really? That's really what they're going to name the employee appreciation committee? I get this is semantics and some trash to complain about but it's just so screwed up that they pay below the cost of living to live anywhere within a two hour radius of the office, say it's because they offer good benefits, keep us living pay check to pay check, but this “company comrades” committee is supposed to make work more bearable by what, brining carnival games to the office once a year? Neat.
There's a regional trash company in my area that I interviewed for, I applied since i'm only I have years of expirence customer service and driving. Interviewed on wednesday at one of their offices and had a panel interview, all went great until one of the interviewer mentioned that “we're looking for someone who really knows the county well, and it seems you don't fit that criteria that we're looking for”. Now I have 3 years driving for uber, and 4 years working for the county, wtf do you mean I don't have that many years driving in the county?? I know the whole fucking metro area. Wtf? When they call, i'm going to say i'm going to turn down the position

Shower thought this morning: Major League Baseball almost went into a lockout negotiating with the union. Imagine employees making so much money still needing to make sure they don’t get screwed by greedy owners. Who’s fighting for the people making 40k a year? Collective bargaining is a human right. Note: major league min salary is about 700k per year.
I received an email from the local school board touting an “Exciting New Benefit for Substitute Teachers.” What is this benefit you ask? The county has agreed to cover the cost of the fingerprinting and drug test needed for the job!* *New employee will reimburse the district over their first 4 paychecks for the cost of the fingerprinting and drug tests. This coming from a school district that recently had 12 teachers absent with Covid and 1 substitute. They resulted in putting 10 classrooms of mixed grades into the lunch room and did classes on the PA system.
