The working class is shamed for eating the food they can afford while food is still not created or distributed equally.

Can’t use the kids excuse

Maybe Millenials don’t like to work because you discriminate us. My co-workers (who are older) always run late because of their kids. Leave early because of their kids and never get in trouble. But me. I run 30 min late because of my mom who needs a last minute ride to the doctor and I get a verbal warning. F*** you. Just because I have no kids and husband does not mean I don’t have family obligations as well. PS I’m the fucking HR Manager

I’m sick.

I'm sick and have one UIA day left FOR THE ENTIRE FUCKING YEAR. God forbid I call out and not get in trouble past that day.

Discussion

Just something to discuss. The monetary was not built to save lives, increase comfort, or serve humanity in any way. It is only a system we use to decide who deserves to die.

Is work inherantly dishonourable?

So a while ago when that person did the interview and much drama ensued, there was a discussion here about what the subreddit was actually for. In the sub's description 'ending work' is noted, so perhaps the 'true' antiwork people won and the work reformers were defeated and so on, but my general question is what does this actually mean? Does this sub regard work as inherantly dishonourable? Many posts here are about how people should work reasonably, how companies shouldn't exploit their workers or how we should adopt a less intense attitude to work. I think these are pretty reasonable critiques, but I would question the points around the apparently inherant dishonourableness of work. I work in the public sector. I've worked for private entities in the past, it was alright, but I essentially decided I didn't really want to work for the enrichment of a capitalist, I didn't…

I hate my job

I work in a local news hub. We have roughly 60 news stations being broadcast out of our building, up from 20 we had two years ago, just to give everyone an idea of the massive growth my company has had. I was hired in at 38k a year back in 2018 with everyone else with me was hired at that same wage. Found out today literally everyone who was hired in with me got a pay raise of six thousand dollars a year and I was given two hundred… I love being a woman in a man's field. And yes I asked why, was nearly fired for just asking why…

I think my job is starting to raise some red flags. Should I get out?

I work for a company based in Spain, but has facilities in the USA. My former boss was a good guy. Real family oriented man who worked with you on availability and tried to keep overtime low and retention high. Nice dude from Barcelona (nice place, I think), and I even met his wife and kids a time or two. He even gave me a cookbook and a My Hero Academia Tshirt for a holiday gift exchange. Well, he got transferred out, and a new boss in. Immediately things started changing, like, The return of overtime. I'm currently on a month and a half of working 50 hours a week. We've had folks quit cause he's so unapproachable. He almost never leaves his office. I've had one conversation with him, and it was about “how many hours I wanna work for overtime this weekend.” Played it safe and said I'd…

hiring signs

On my way to my $11/hr pt job (in a town of 3000) I see about 7-10 hiring signs. I literally could quit, walk across the street to 5 different places hiring and get the same or more. My fucks given is -10 for ANY reason. The owner definitely expects way more than I do for that hourly wage and anytime my manager tells me something like, “Todd prefers we put all the money in the register THIS way”, I remind him of this. Todd's not running/covering the store so fuck him!
