Today one of my supervisors decided I wasn't cooking pancakes fast enough, so she came into the kitchen and stood shoulder to shoulder with me watching them cook. I asked her if she wanted to take over cooking, and she said no.
I work in childcare and just gave my two weeks since I’m changing careers. My boss was talking to me today and said, “just wait, you’ll be back here working in six months’ time because you’ll be pregnant. Are you on any form of birth control?” Jokes on her because I’m in a relationship with another girl, so obviously I can’t get pregnant! Also thought it was weird she was asking about my sexual health, but I’m never seeing her again so fuck it.
I have been self-employed for the past 7 years. The pandemic pretty much ended that dream. Prior to that, I spend many years as a corporate supervisor, I ran an entire department. I was a project manager, a business analyst, I even taught post-secondary education. I have a bachelors degree and tons of high level work experience. And I cannot find a job to save my life. I honestly did not think I would have a problem jumping back into the workforce, given my background. I am convinced all these job postings are just for looks.
Is there any other doable way?
And here’s the Malaysia government…
Let me start off by saying in Texas, to be covered by the FMLA, you have to be with a company for a year. Also, Texas has the worst laws in the country for employees. I work from home. The other morning.. here is what I know part from remembering and part from looking a records on my computer. I logged in at 9:15 am. I don't have to be at work until 11:30 am. I logged in (big no no according to company rules) and sent my boss and email about a customer at 9:17. This information if what I gathered from my computer. I don't remember it. So, now, in my head I was working as per normal. Except, come to find out, I wasn't. At 1:15 is when I guess I came back to “reality” but nothing changed to me. I had believed I had been working…
I hate Attendance Policies
The warehouse I work at has a “strict” attendance policy. It’s only strict because my supervisor is way to by the book and offers no kind of window. I was late 5 and 8 minutes. the 5 because I was worried about my car getting stolen because the warehouse is located in a pretty unsafe city and 8 minutes because TRAFFIC COMPLETELY STOPPED THE FREEWAY. These points affect whether we get promoted and whether we can apply to other positions within the company but because of these little points that any other empathetic manager would let slide, I’m stuck making an 80 mile/2-3 hours round trips until August instead of April like planned. I’m so infuriated because I’ve asked them for a little empathy since I live so far and CONSIDERING it took them a whole month and a half to pay me for Covid related pay that they kept…
