Because of the way he treated the team, I ended up losing respect for him causing us to butt heads on tasks and whatnot. I ended up telling him I was gonna be gone from the studio in 2 months, so he decided to fire me the very next week. This was March 2021. Bereavement
This is a slightly older story, but thinking back on it, it seems very appropriate for this sub. I'd had an uncle pass away while I was working in a call center, and so I went through the company's process of requesting leave for bereavement (unpaid). I only requested 1 day off, so that I could attend the funeral. Days go by without any update on the status of my request. I asked both my manager and my supervisor, but they told me I would have an answer by the date in question. The morning of, I still have no answer, so I say fuck it and just go. Standing there, surrounded by family and friends crying, they decide its appropriate to start blowing up my phone demanding to know why I never showed up or even called in.
