Boss wants to have dinner with me and another colleague after work. I dont, what is appropiate way to say no?

So in short. Boss wants dinner with me and other colleague (who is a true kiss ass by the way)..he wants dinner after work. I dont want to because for one) i dont like my boss he only cares about production and money and this meeting is probably just a way to ask me to work longer. Second reason) it takes me 1.5 hour to get home, I dont want to sacrifice my whole evening by having dinner with them. I want to see my parents and just do stuff in my own time. He messaged me today what date would be convenient for me. What is a proper way for me to decline it?

Had an experience at work on Friday, considering rethinking my job

A few weeks ago I started working in a lab doing stuff related to what I studied in college. Since starting, I haven't exactly fallen in love with the job – I don't quite get along with my coworkers, the work isn't what I thought it was going to be, and I find myself dreading going to work most days. This past Friday both of my supervisors were out of town, and because I'm still considered a trainee I can't do anything on my own and need to be accompanied by a real employee. So since there was no one in my lab for me to work with, they threw me in with another group in a totally different lab doing different work, just to help out for the day. When I tell you, I felt totally opposite working in this lab than I did working in the one I…

To the Redditors with low income: What kind of job do you have and why don’t you change to a better job?

I often see people complaining about their incomes. I would like to know what you are doing, why you were taking that job and why don’t you change? I hope this doesn’t sound judgmental. I’m genuinely curious about your stories. Just to provide some information from my side: I am a System Engineer (for 4 years already) living in a European country (not Germany) with an middle class income somewhere in the upper average of the country. I tried to put a lot of effort into my studies because I always considered this the only way to escape the poverty which I knew from my parents. What is your story? Did you study hard enough? Did you have an incident in your life? Did you follow your dreams? Where you just unfortunate?
