After putting in my notice today.
So I put in my two week notice today via email to my Boss around lunchtime today and had to call him at 5 pm to make sure he received it. He told me that he got it and that was it. What really got me is that he didn’t care that I was leaving nor try to retain me. I am like WTF since I thought we had a good working relationship and that I put crazy amounts of hours going above and beyond.
I've been working for almost 4 months for a company that does media monitoring. I work in the department in charge of producing reports on clients, which are usually government entities, major banks, oil companies… Needless to say, there's a lot of pressure to produce perfect and spotless work as the clients are super picky and will create an issue out of nothin. One report we produce is called an ad hoc report that could be requested by the client at any time and usually those have very tight deadlines. I just worked on 3 consecutive ad hocs, with only 2 hours in between each one. We covered alot of news and my supervisor was rushing me, while I had no support and no one to help me out as my team tonight was essentially 2 people. So I work at a Hampton Inn and Suites and the GM tells us a lot that if we cost the hotel money, such as not getting a valid card or giving a rate we aren’t supposed to, that they will take it out of our paychecks which can be quite a bit of money. I’m in Georgia in the US and I can’t find anything about it pertaining to law. I haven’t done anything yet to get my check garnished but I know someone who I work with who has. Is this legal at all?
I suffer from anxiety and absolutely hate working in the IT corporate world but I feel stuck. I'm constantly worried about not doing my work properly and my manager being unhappy with me. Cannot imagine doing 9 to 5 for the rest of my life. I absolutely dread sunday as the same 9 to 5 cycle will begin from Monday. I dont feel relaxed even on the weekends. I dont even know what my passions are or what else I could do. Everyhting is so expensive. If I dont work how will i ever buy a house to live in or feed myself. Literally no other option but continue to work just to live.
