Name your job title something believable and lo and behold, you were always, definitely… working. On something. See right there? It’s on the paper.
My girlfriend used to work at value village, when covid started they had to lay everybody off and she was sent home, after a few months they managed to get the workplace within what the government wanted for covid measures. One day she gets a call from her manager who offers her her job back with an absolutely insane schedule that went from being put up a week in advance to daily and no pay increase, lunch schedules all over the place and being denied having water at their workstations. When she asked if there would be a pay increase they said no and she said well then I'm not coming back thank you (they were shocked), she was the top employee in the area she worked in so much in fact that her supervisor texted her afterwards and almost begged her to come back she's now a pet groomer…
When I worked at a program for youth, the Director spent approximately 95% of her time in her office. She was deliberately disconnected from the rest of the activities. She didn't help with planning, providing any sense of overall responsibility, and she didn't really understand her own programs. That was mostly left to the very underpaid staff to figure out. Her dysfunctional decisions caused many issues for the staff. Meanwhile, on the program website, the Director is featured in complimentary, staged photos with her staff. She humblebrags about how important quality education is for children. She also states that she spends a great deal of time with her team and the students. In addition, she holds various community leadership positions related to her job status. Just…. how?
My dumb lazy ass office workers didn’t check my paycheck to make sure I was paying federal and state income taxes, but I’m paying state taxes for another state. Long story short I work in the field, I travel around to different hospitals, and I work long hours and have a tough job. We are somewhat small. My bosses assistant is entitled and argues about doing any kind of work at all. She’s also “HR”. When I was onboarded I was amazed because unlike any other job I’d worked at, this one literally did not explain anything to me about what HR company they use, or their policies. It just was what it was. Anyway, I did my onboarding with the HR company and filled out a W4, all 3 of them. The federal, state, and non resident. Because I work between 2 states. I never really looked at my…
Belongs here.
Ended up just ignoring her. She’s the office manager and can’t do anything but she’s so fucking cheap. Pays 12.5 an hour and employees all make under 14 here. I’m part time and my job is just editing some word docs so it’s extremely chill but my coworkers do massive amounts of work yet make like 13 an hour. Also we’re extremely short staffed . She’s also rich and this cheap. Next time she tells me shit like this I’ll tell her “sorry about that. Do you want me to give you a dollar for to make up for the time I missed?” In the most condescending way I am
