I have been working at a popular fast food place and I hate it. I got a job only for the money but getting this job made me realize I would rather have no spending money than work there. I'm still in highschool so I dont have to stress about bills. But everyone there is so dull and lifeless and my boss is just a jerk. Everyone there is only in it for the money too, no one there enjoys the place. I haven't been working long but I just wanna grab my paycheck and never show up again. I know it's the unprofessional thing to do but I care less and less with every shift.

Running a company from management POV is like a Fishing. ▪︎Where they can sit and relax. ▪︎They see all bottom level employees as worms. ▪︎”A pointy Hook must go through the soul of an employee. ▪︎Worms are always used to get the fish, which only management can eat. ▪︎And complain if the fish the worm caught is not upto the standard, throw that used worm into water to look for a new worm. ▪︎At the end, All base level employees are stabbed and left to live/die with broken physical and mental health. Much of our relationship with work was standardized during the 1950s, and that includes our work-life balance. However things have changed significantly in that aspect since then. You see, work-life balance in the 1950s was set under the assumption that everyone who worked had someone whose express purpose was to take care of their life once they left work, i.e. a housewife. But today, when the cult of domesticity has largely been abandoned, we work the same amount without having that same life cultivation. If we wanted to return to that comparative worker's paradise, we would have to essentially cut our work time in half so that we'd have sufficient time to take care of our lives. Hi hi! Can anyone provide feedback on how to ask for promotions. Books, blogs, podcasts… such a nervous topic for me, but feel like I need guidance. I’ve always been like I am so thankful that I have a job which I am, but I feel like my companies should be thankful for me too.

That would solve a lot of problems with bosses who wanna keep people slightly longer than theyre supposed to. Like oh you wanna keep me here for 20 minutes doing shit nah. Im gonna worked what i was paid for. I wasnt paid for those 20 minutes tho. Unfair! Ok guys jeez go easy now youre misbehaving. Please keep civil order. Please no violent words or actions. I don’t owe anything more to my job paying me $8 an hour to run an entire local post office that services every major carrier. I got this job thinking I’d sort mail, now I’m logging financial records, opening and closing the store, monitoring gift shop inventory, coordinating carrier pickups, managing online mail boxes, physical mail boxes, a website, running a uhaul side gig which is against the HOA regulations of my neighborhood in which the local office is located, and doing general store maintenance, cleaning, appliance repair (electrical work mostly because I go to college for it and mentioned it in a casual conversation once which led to a string of increasingly more frequent requests to do things like change lightbulbs, ceiling tiles, fix her air conditioning unit (don’t worry I did not need to purchase any parts it wasn’t a total loss of my talents) and hang her…

So when I was a kid I wanted to be either an Archaeologists or an entrepreneur(quite a leap, I know.) Archaeologist never happened. I spent years as either an assistant manager or manager of some sort, thinking along the way it would help me be a business owner. Ten years go by and I became more and more jaded. Everyday work is hard, hard work isn’t the problem but the system is. I see the flaws, the manipulation and use, and it leaves me jaded and unmotivated. What now? What are we supposed to do?
