Need advice, not quite sure if this belongs here

Some background information: I work cooking and delivering meals to senior citizens and generally enjoy my job. When I’m out on a delivery route I use the work van, which is owned by my employer. Some other relevant information: I’m two months cigarette-free, and live in an “employment-at-will” state. Today my immediate boss called me into her office and asked if I had been smoking in the work van while I was on deliveries yesterday (which is a BIG no-no). Being that I recently quit smoking, I proudly answered that no I had not, and then asked her why. She told me that the head of the transportation department got into the van after I used it yesterday and smelled cigarettes, which the transportation-head promptly told our head-boss about. Heard from from former colleagues at a company I left last year that massive attrition continues and the CEO got a 50% bonus for 2021. Based on this, the pattern seems to be this: Step 1: Land CEO gig. Step 2: Win the support and trust of the board, shareholders and employees. Step 3: Begin a cascade of nepotism by hiring former colleagues and subordinates, regardless of competence that will also hire former colleagues and subordinates, regardless of competence (repeat cycle ad nauseum). Step 4: Set non-public attrition goals which will be fulfilled easily on account of the actions of step 3. Step 5: With the reduced overhead from attrition and despite operating on a shoestring which the market seems to reflect awareness of via the stagnant stock price (Attrition sounds better than layoffs), post solid numbers for company performance. left a 60h/week job with violent teens for a 30h/week job.

I worked for 10 years with teens with severe violence problems. I got attacked more times then i can remember. Saved people from suicide. Saved people from assault. Name it and i've probably seen it. My mental health took a huge fall and i was diagnosed with severe generalized anxiety and ptsd. I left that job and i'm now working a 25 to 30 hours a week job where i help a cook in a residence for the elders. It's far from the same pay but i jave a lot more time to myself to take care of my mental health. Dont let a job do what it did to me. It's not worth it. About to lose my shit

My job lost a full-time person, and I, like an idiot, wanted to get into it. I'm currently part time but I do likely the most work in my department. My supervisor kept telling me she's waiting for the position to get posted. Well come to learn the assholes above her think we don't need to fill that full-time position. Supervisor sure didn't tell me that. Currently I work with 2 other staffers (no supervision on-site) who are probably the laziest fuckers I've worked with and I have worked in some shitholes. Constantly late, on the phone and needing me to tell them what's next. One of them hides during the other's lunch so they won't have to do any hard work. Meaning I pick up the slack. Just got laid off from a job of 5 years

-First real job after graduate school. -Worked for the company 5 years under different roles and was currently in a management role. -Had a meeting with the CEO back in December where they gave me an End of the year 'Employee Retention' Bonus. -I report directly to VPs and Directors at the company and never once had any issues, warnings or complaints about me or the work that I did. -Was scheduled to travel next week for a project and had flights booked and everything. -I was asked for a meeting today with the CEO and VP who told me they were restructuring the organization and that my position was being eliminated and effective immediately I was finished with the organization. What is life? lol.
