We have PTO request deadlines every month for 2 months ahead schedule (i.e March PTO deadline is in Mid January) Anything after the deadline is my responsibility to find personal coverage. I would like to note that I rarely request PTO days for my job. I have worked there for 3 years and have called off one time. I have a Friday wedding I am a bridesmaid in May and my Sister’s College graduation that I requested before the PTO deadline. My boss emailed me today saying they have a lot of PTO requests for those days and I might need to find my own coverage. Guess I will be calling off twice. What is the point of accruing PTO if I am shamed for trying to use it.
Shortest interview ever
Due to the fact I can't drive and am suffering from acute agoraphobia, I've been applying exclusively to fully remote positions. I have a lot of call center experience, so I've been trying to leverage that. I got asked yesterday to interview for one of those positions, and scheduled it for today. After the initial pleasantries, this question comes up: Interviewer: So this position is fully remote, but you will be required to report once a month to our office in Markham. Me: I thought this was a fully remote position. Interviewer: It is, but it's important to the culture of the buisness that we have one day in the office a month. Me: The reason I applied is because I don't drive and the position is advertised as fully remote. Asking me to travel 2.5 hours each way to Markham once a month would be a hardship, and doesn't…
This is for a remote entry level customer service job. And I guess I get why they do background checks, why they need to see 20 years of home addresses, my high school transcript and job history, but for fucks sake why do they need my W2s?!
