Why don’t cashiers get chairs?
I dont understand why people are forced to stand for 10-12 hours on end for the purpose of looking professional. I know I don't get to have much of an opinion on the matter because I only work weekends, but those 20 hours feel like horse shit because according to my boss “sitting down is unprofessional and nobody in my generation understands hardwork anymore”. I can only imagine the pain that my coworkers are going through from standing quite literally everyday. If they arent gonna let us sit, then they should at least give us better insoles/shoes for the 13.50 they're paying us
I mean, I already knew the system was rigged against me, but I received a pay increase of 70 cents and my rent went up $200 a month, you quickly realize that you'll never be able to get out of the rut you're in. It's insanely depressing.
Git better with this minimum wage
Lets’s talk about mandatory vaccinations
So it is all about control not health. In 1940's doctors promoted cigarettes. The were bought by tobacco companies and now they are bought by pharmaceutical companies. “More Doctors Smoke Camels Than Any Other Cigarette” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCMzjJjuxQI https://www.history.com/news/cigarette-ads-doctors-smoking-endorsement “Doctors hadn’t yet discovered a clear link between smoking and lung cancer, and a majority of them actually smoked cigarettes. So in cigarette ads, tobacco companies used doctors’ authority to make their claims about their cigarettes seem more legitimate. ” Now most doctors are paid commission on every vaccinated person so of course they encourage people to get shot. And no one proved that covid vax is safe and effective long-term. Actually it is now mainstream that covid vaxx can cause for example myocarditis, blod clots etc. Many countries withdraw vaccinations for children, why this experiment is mandatory for many workers ? It is another reason to be antiwork if you are pressured…
I work in a union job. It’s a POS
In my union job (which I should add is related to law enforcement, but we are civilians) we only get 2.5% “cost of living” pay raise per year. We have no paid maternity leave. We have to use FMLA time of we can’t work more than 40 hours a week. If you have to go off payroll for any reason (including covid) and for any amount of time (even an hour) you lose any longevity pay that was due to you. These are just the few things I can think of off the top of my head but I’m going through my entire contract today to see what else needs changed. I’m not sure if there is anything I can do since my union reps are friends with management. I’m not allowed to attend the meeting unless it’s my day off and I get it approved my management. So there’s…
yesterday i made a post asking if it was okay to give my three weeks over text. i ended up texting my manager and gave my three week notice. he just texted back saying that it’s sad to hear i want to leave and if i’m willing to reconsider and work once a week instead (i’m already working two days a week) i haven’t given him a printed copy of the three week notice. in my text i asked him if he needs it, and if he does, i’ll give it to him next time i come in for my shift. he didn’t address that in his text back to me. tbh i just want to go. i said i was leaving to focus on school but it’s not true. i just don’t like working there anymore, i’m over it. how do i say thanks but no thanks and that…
