Due to a surgery I have six weeks of sick leave. Now when the pain isn't so overpowering anymore, I can say that I really enjoy not working. I don't hate my job, I just really love not working. I do what I want during the days, and just feel so happy. Will be getting back to work soon and it will be okay, but I know that I would not be sad or restless if I didn't have to work at all. Just wanted to share that
It's an absurd (or surreal) thing to imagine but, suppose tomorrow, officially, money stops working. All work that gets done is strictly voluntary. At important stores (say, grocery stores) it's take what you need. I think many people would freak out, hoard, steel, refuse to help, etc. and maybe many others would do the opposite — but I have no reason to think that's more than a wild guess. What do you think?
I was wrongfully terminated, have spent my savings to retain an employment lawyer. My UE was denied and now the employer intercepted my state tax refund. Its just one gut punch after another- no mercy for me, no thoughts about my financial situation. They just keep taking and taking more money. How can this be legal? How can an employer just ruin humans like this? This country blows.
Hi guys. I recently spoke to a rep of a very prestigious school (PS) in CA. I'd applied for a job there months ago, but never heard back, until a month ago. I'm currently making good money with minimal hours, so when a rep called me about the position I'd applied to months before and I found out it's paying nearly $15k less/year than I'm currently making, I told them no thanks. I didn't even let them tell me about the position. I cut right to the chase about salary so I didn't waste my time or theirs. Yesterday I get a call and another rep for PS tells me since reaching out a month ago, the salary has increased by nearly $20k than they were offering previously, now entering into the triple digits (which is only $7k more than what I currently make). They asked me if I was…
Mine has set a goal for me that I am expected to process 100 invoices/day. Here's the good part – we don't get 100 invoices/day! What stupid, arbitrary, or impossible goals have your higher ups set for you?
I have been working in the HQ's of a furniture retail company (I got the job mostly for my frustration during the pandemic) since August 2020. I'm a one person department and I shouldn't be that way bc it's about maintaining pricing, inventory and HD images in a website. But there's no intentions to get me some help or lowering my work load not even paying more for my work. Even got suspended for not doing all the heavy workload that this implies. I work 6/7 days and I spend almost 10 hrs here and the CEO and GM don't care about the mental, physical and financial consequences that are on jeopardy for their employees on this schedule. I'm quiting today for my mental health and if they don't care about me I won't care about them either. If you're from El Paso TX area I don't recommend this company…
Death of a loved one in the USA
My mother died this morning. I called my boss and was told to take all time off I needed. My sister called her boss and he told her the same thing. But, it's not the same thing. I get PTO at my job. My sister does not. Any time off she takes means she doesn't get paid for that time. That just doesn't feel right.
You order a meal or a package and it’s half damaged dumped and the person forgets to ring your doorbell. Are they irresponsible? No, the company is timing them now for some reason. Sorry I couldn’t write a whole post but just something that pisses me off. They aren’t being fair to their employees
