What is your work schedule? Hours, vacation time, sick days, and name country?

I wish they would stop with this BS of an idea about “managing up”. I’m not a manager, I don’t get paid like a manager and I shouldn’t be doing my manager’s job. I dont get it

My middle management team lead is constantly scheduling pointless meetings. This week senior management has asked that there are NO TEAM MEETINGS this week to allow more time for other important work to take place. However, Friday rolls around and she sends out the meeting schedule along with a note that we may require a second meeting. Nothing on the agenda indicates that we need to sit down and catch up face to face for longer than 5 minutes!

A couple of months back I resigned from my job after an unfair evaluation. However, my boss decided to end my appointment after I refused to ‘prove my worth’ and didn’t accept his plea for me to stay on for a reevaluation. IMO the proof was in my work done that I had received praise for earlier. Looking back now, it seemed like an obvious attempt by my boss and a few colleagues to get rid of me for political reasons. Very common where I’m from. Anyway, during my time at my place, I was pretty friendly with everyone, but preferred to mind my business. I noticed that giving people too much access, my boss included, meant that they felt comfortable contacting me outside of working hours on things that honestly could wait. I would say I have about 2 old colleagues that I don’t mind hearing from every now…

I thought I wouldnt do it. Trust me, I thought About it a 1000s times. This forums said just leave the job. I knew this was the only option to regain control of my life. But I felt like I couldn’t do it, even tho my coworkers treated me like shit on the bottom of their shoe. Trust me just leave. I’m gearing up for my first vacation in almost a year. Over the fucking moon. If you think you can’t, I swear to fucking god do it. I’ll probably be getting my first raise, just by switching jobs. Was at one of those where you wouldn’t get a raise until you asked. My boyfriends been up almost 10$ an hour at his job in raises. I haven’t had a negative performance review. Haven’t been allowed to take vacation. Just peal. You guys can do better. So can I.
