I've heard lots of arguments about why we should have universal healthcare and about how it works in other countries. I wanted to share a thought I had an experience I went through that I've never heard. I suffer from depression. It's serious enough that I take an SNRI, a mood stabilizer and a stimulant every morning to keep me going. Most days are fine. The medication is expensive. Without insurance they would cost me more than $100 a month. So let's say I lost my job and my health insurance. I'm a father of 3 kids who scraps by and could no way afford to pay that with whatever money I have. It can take 90 days or more to get insurance at a new job and who knows how long to get hired. So now I have to figure out how to deal with the withdrawals. I would…

I think we could for instance, harass grocery stores en masse to get the to sit, harass stores so much about how they treat shitty employees, they go to the news. The police aren't gonna stop a million callers. Nobody will be able to stop shit, if we make harassing corporations normal. I say we stop blacking out text, name, shame, make them play our game

I had a talk with my boss that I am thinking about staying in my job. One (!) of the reasons was the behaviour of my workmates. Before I had already often told them that I wasn't happy with their aggressive attitude. But there wasn't much of a change. The other reasons were my boss himself and the pay. Two weeks later, when I was in homeoffice, my boss had a meeting with all of them (and without me) about how I will resign mainly because of their behaviour. That was before I had even made my desicion. A few days later I made my desicion to quit and told him. Them he told me about that special meeting and how they were shocked that I disliked them so much. Now one of them is super angry with me. Glad I quit, that's all just incredibly fucked up.

I buy stuff I shouldn't be able to afford but my rent is so cheap at $200 (Split between siblings, 900 in total) a month that I probably keep more in my pocket than people making $50~60k in SoCal. Also have a cousin that got promoted to GM and making 60~70k while paying $100 in rent (Living with grandparents down the street). Many new housing places start off at $1200~$2000/month for maybe 1 or 2 rooms, Ours is 4 rooms w/ 2 bathrooms. Honestly, Cheaper housing is the main solution to our poverty struggles. I have a friend that is getting his own place at $1200/month while making 2700/month which is basically half his paycheck!

So tomorrow morning i have an interview and trial at a new place and im excited but feel alot of pressure. ive been in my current job waitressing 4 months without contract (even though they said they would give me one) for 7 euros an hour mostly only doing weekends. I love my colleagues and they have recently started giving me more hours… however The new job is fulltime with my first ever contract and pay is really good. I mean really good and i'll be working by the beach!! I hate quitting but i have no obligation to them, so if this trial tomorrow goes good i can quit when i want. but how do i go about it? every job ive ever had to quit on makes me feel horrible everytime that i have some anxiety about it. any recommendations?
