Company wanted to pay me overtime after 50, I insisted that it would be ideal for me to get overtime after 40. This was a trucking position driving tractor trailers on a graveyard shift. Hiring manager insisted that overtime after 50 was fair and competitive in the trucking industry. I knew that I would be missing out on a lot of money because it was 50-55 hours a week and they're just doing that to save the company money. I know my worth and I denied the offer
Any advice?
I'm about to start my first job over the summer (I'm 15), it's at a pizza place, and I have an in as a line cook. Do you wonderful people of Reddit have any advice on how not to turn into a stressed ball of nerves?
Downfall: The Case Against Boeing
I have to assume that everyone following this subreddit hates major corporations. If you do recommend that you watch and also do not watch Downfall: The Case Against Boeing on Netflix. Spending 90+ minutes hearing all about how a major corporation gave literally gave no fucks about human lives and only cared about stock prices and profits is infuriating!!!!
TLDR at bottom As the title says i'm a laborer atm, i work in a factory and make ok money for the rural area 14.50. I cought covid back in 2020 didn't have it to bad and lost taste for half a year, however since then i catch everything and have missed soo much work i'm sure im going to lose my job at some point probably sooner than later. I know i wont be able to go into another factory/labor job getting sick almost every month or 2. I am hoping someone can tell me what jobs i can try and get into where i can hopefully work from home and have less of a chance to catch something. I've pretty much been working since out of high school. I'm 35 have a wife and 1 y/o i know how to use a computer quite well, most my hobbies…
I am leaving in two weeks and wanted to cash out my sick hours , I was going to do it where I did 8 hours every week so it won't be all out once but they said I can't do that even tho it says I can do it with a week's notice which is what i was doing. And now they're saying I won't be able to cash out all of them because it's only the first quarter so 32/4 is only 8 hours . So they said 8 hours is the most they can do but someone who recently has quit told me she got all her sick time paid off into her last check. I don't understand if it's just because it's me or if because they're not legally entitled to give it to me but wouldn't it be discrimination if the girl before me was…
Worried to call off.
I work in a salaried job in insurance. I am ill. Not Covid, but pretty nasty sinus infection. I’m tired, run down, all together feeling like one would when you are sick. I called off today but I am worried about calling off tomorrow as I have assigned tasks that are due tomorrow. I am worried about backlash from my supervisor and peers as they will need to pick up and complete these tasks. Idk what to do.
