Long story short started a job as a team of 2 that's now 6, ofbwhich I was promoted to run at the start of the year. Job is Technical support and basic bug fixes on a basic but unique system. Got pulled in for the chat with HR, they talked about been able to save for a house now n what not. Talked about the changes in roll etc and ended with the amount. Doller fity an hour extra, or 5%. Roughly 200 bucks a month to manage a team on top of my old duties. Kept my cool an didn't have a go at him. I've never been promoted like this before, so I want to know if I got the short end of the stick as it feels like it with houses going for a cool 1mil in my area (saving for a house my arse) or if…
I work at a small grocery store that only has two bathrooms (one for men and one for women). I won't name the company bc I feel that our manager's actions don't reflect the company as a whole, most of the other workers are very nice to work with. Today a customer made a mess in the men's restroom and one of the employees saw, but didn't clean it nor say anything about it. Our store manager ended up having to clean it himself and decided that since he actually had to do some dirty work for once, no one got to use the men's restroom for the rest of the day. He even put an “Out of Order” sign on the door to deter customers, which baffles me. I find it a little funny that I'm 16 and clean the bathrooms every night I work, yet a 40-something year…
meme no work poop
First time poster. I’m a graduate student, attending the same university I graduated from to get my masters. I’ve applied for this internship before, but didn’t make the final cut. This will be my last chance, as it’s a student only internship, but I was really excited to try again. I was interviewed by three people, two of them being closer to my age, and one probably in her late 40s. So I walk in, and the two younger girls were nice to me, and the older one acknowledged that she interviewed me last year. The younger ones started trying to get to know me, asking actual interview questions while the older woman kept interrupting them (and me) to ask what they wanted for lunch. Mind you, this was a 15 minute interview block and she wouldn’t stop showing the other two women her phone and trying to get their…
Amazon rant
amazon doesn’t hire talent from within. i work in a fulfillment facility with a degree but it’s impossible to even meet with someone for an interview. i’ve applied and waited. talked to hr then waited followed by nothing. i spoke up about this issue in the anti union meeting met with someone from corporate then nothing. i applied again, met with the district manager and he said he can’t promise anything but he’ll reach out. so now i wait again i want to be a creative director. i want to be a boss bitch but i’m also a mom who’s struggling with a resume that has giant gaps and half of my work is from my side business gigs and not long term employment i’m tired work is hard and at amazon it’s excruciating at times. I am willing to work for this bullshit pay with the promise that i…
TLDR: my BF who works a maintenance job and is salaried working hella over time, has no one working underneath him and is this falsely labeled a manager so they don't have to pay him overtime. He's on call 24/7 and working way too many hours. How can I help him get the money he deserves? My BF was hired as “chief maintenance officer” for a small hotel group managed by a large corporate entity in the state of Utah about 9 months ago. He is a salaried employee, and often works well over 40 hrs per week during the busy season, and does not make overtime on those hours. For the last 5 months he has been the only maintenance worker onsite for two hotels. During the busy season sometimes he has one extra maintenance guy that will give him two days off a week. Though days off for…
Things are changing in India…
I desperately want to quit. Merchants keep messing up my orders, are out of items, put in wrong merchant address and it just costs me time and effort trying to make things right with the customer and support, otherwise they offer lower and lower. It’s a daily thing and exhausting. On top of that, What are these offers?! i’m not driving 7 miles for $2.75. But i get hundreds of offers like this and my acceptance rate is terrible because of this. TF!!!!! I want to say “Tip your delivery drivers!” but it really should be “pay your workers!” it shouldn’t even be a think you offer me to spend 30 minutes of my time for anything below $12 let alone $2! I’m exhausted but I have bills coming up and After they are paid I can then buy myself food.
