Employee Appreciation Week.
Companies need to stop. If you are just going through the motions then dont do it. It makes you look terrible. We have a mostly remote work force right now and our leaders are offering coffee (which is free all the time like all offices) and pastries. Why bother really…. How about good raises? Respect? Listening to employees? That would make me feel appreciated way more.

Absolutely nothing is sustainable
I’m 22F in Denver. I have a massage therapy certification, but left the field after about 2 1/2 years due to extreme physical and mental fatigue, I would’ve done permanent damage to my body had I continued, and I absolutely despised it. I recently got the first job I’ve ever had that I like. I have had to take on two additional part time jobs to make up for the missing income, and this still does not completely make it up. I am even still doing massage on weekends, despite the pain and resentment I feel for it. Due to a car payment I took on when I was making over twice the hourly income I am now, I can’t afford to even eat after paying my bills. I didn't want a video recorded of me, but it's hard to not consent, given the power dynamic. They're holding a job over my head, and if I don't agree to be recorded, do you think they might hold that against me? To top it off, I didn't get the gig. I want the recording destroyed/deleted. Nope, it's their property now.
