So I've been working in a Wendy's for a few years, awful decision, but it was convenient while I was in school. A few months ago, I went to one of our manager meetings (because a third of the staff are managers at this point) and the higher-ups were upset at our customer reviews, apparently. They weren't bad, per se, they just weren't good enough. Upper management even knows that most of our reviews are done by the staff themselves, they just let it slide because it lets them look better. Then they drop the absolute gem of a line that is the title, directed at our GM, but applying to everyone. If that's not a textbook definition red flag then nothing is. Like hell anyone's gonna make customer surveys of all things a priority in their lives – not their jobs, mind you, their lives – at a fast…
She made a post on facebook about how, instead of having a social life and enjoying herself, she spent her college years working 4 jobs at once so that she could one day own a home. It's so fucking sad the amount of work required for the simple goal of homeownership. Meanwhile our grandparents bought homes working a single job with no college degree. Rant over. I'm just pissed off and very depressed.
Unemployment Appealing Hearing Results
So I posted some time back about my ex-employer appealing my unemployment. So the judge called me today (as scheduled) to tell me that my ex-employer failed to give them any sort of contact information for the hearing, and so it was decided in my favor by default. So yay!
I was freaking interrogated yesterday by an interviewer (she is the CEO of the company) about gaps in my employment history dating back to 1989. Yes, 33 years ago. She spent 15 minutes asking me about those gaps, some as small as a month or two while I looked for another job. “Why did you leave that job?” “What were you doing?” On and on and on. I've read about people here telling their interviewers to take a flying fuck, but I didn't because I was truly interested in finally finding out about their job. Bait and switch big time. No, you will not be working primarily in this location (25 minutes away), but you will mainly be working in that location (50 miles away). Oh, and you may be required to go to another location that is 3 hours away once in awhile. Oh, and you will have to…
Let that sink in. A multi billion company needs to create a false story to sell their narrative I was never asked to fill a survey My boss said in a staff meeting that he knows that “We are excited to return,” but he didn't ask anyone about it. My coworkers agree that they don't want to.
