If a potential employer offers you less than the pay listed on the advertisement, they’re likely committing PPP fraud.

Companies got Paycheck Protection Program loans during the pandemic with the condition that they spend at least 60% on payroll or recruiting expenses. However, if they can't find qualified workers, they can get forgiveness from the loans “because nobody wants to work anymore”. Making jobs listings for a position they have no intention of filling helps them get loan forgiveness. Especially if the wage amount is offered verbally. You can use the links below to see if a company is a PPP recipient, and report them for fraud if you believe they're not trying to fill the listed position in good faith. Of course the real irony is that the companies complain loudly about people getting taxpayer handouts without mentioning that they received government money through PPP. Corporations are the real 'welfare queens'. https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/loans/covid-19-relief-options/paycheck-protection-program/ppp-loan-forgiveness https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/ https://www.sba.gov/partners/contracting-officials/contract-administration/report-fraud-waste-abuse

Not wanting to work as many hours/days

I'm working at a dead end retail job, which has been steadily becoming harder and harder as people quit and management expects the same results from a much smaller pool of people. I took it as a part time job, to make money while I went to school, but recently have either had a ton of hours, or little to no days off. During the Valentine's holiday week I worked nearly 40 hours over 7 days, and now I've had a week where I'm going to be on day 9 tomorrow, and I'm utterly exhausted. I don't want to work so many hours a week, or days in a row. I'm not in a place where I need to be working like this to get by, and most of the money just goes into savings now… no time to spend it. Basically just asking for help on how to bring…

“Quit” my first job

So this week was my last week at my job, they knew from months before I had to leave around this date. We are paid each 15 days, so on the 15th, i was asked if o rather not get paid that day and wait for Friday so I got everything in one check. I said yeah that's fine, but i was actually thinking that if it's not going to make things complicated for you, this could be my last shift here. My boss, who is also my uncle, got super angry, didn't yelled but ranted for awhile of how unprofessional that request was, and asked me to decide in that very exact moment if I wanted this to be my last shift or until Friday. I literally said to him that I knew there was a lot of work and i might be helpful until Friday. This request also…

Getting bombarded with messages from work

I started a new job recently that I really enjoy, but I’ve been getting all sorts of messages from the manager/HR lady/shift leader, all work related. I’ve been responding to them but now I’m getting tired of it. And the manager started a group chat with all the employees and put me in it, which I hate. Do I need to respond to these messages if I’m not working? It’s always about my schedule or my hours. The app that my schedule is shown on has not been working at all so I’ve been relying on the HR lady texting me my hours and I don’t know when I’m working next. I’m not gonna reach out to her constantly though asking for my hours. I had a job like that before and I got sick of doing it. Also, she suggested that I go into the office on my day…

The so-called Fed is full of shit

Inflation is 7.5+% but a supposed increase of 5% of average hourly wages is unacceptable? There has to be corporate greed at play here. Of course us “poors” are to blame, right? In order for inflation to slow down we need to take a pay cut. This article is lacking in details and Google is failing me here; can someone point out how tf this is reality?

changing my shift with no warnings

Long time lurker on this sub.. on my phone so excuse formatting. I work for a soap company that has branches all over the world – I am currently working in one in a country that I am still learning the language for, so it’s hard to fight my own corner. I work part time and the idea was I would take language lessons in my spare time – working 24 hours a week in a small town, where I can walk (40mins) to work, I must have lots of free time, right? wrong. i got my shifts for a whole month via the app they use, took screenshots of all of them to send my partner so we could plan fun things on my time off. In that month not one of my shifts have remained the same. My manager will change my shift whenever she feels like it,…
