First we push for national WFH. Then, we push for national Double Pay for onsite workers

First we push for national WFH. Then, we push for national Double Pay for onsite workers. So therefore cab drivers, retail workers, servers, etc should be paid double because they have to be onsite. This way if office workers get to WFH, onsite workers also benefit by getting paid more than they do now. That will be the incentive to work such types of jobs. This is our generations revolution.

Now I believe all that stories about idiotic recruitment policies of American companies.

I am a freelance journalist for nearly 20 years. I am Polish and I did a podcast in English recently about Polish people helping Ukrainian refugees. I was approached by an American portal asking me to make an interview and write a profile piece on one of those refugees. I am based in Scotland but I spoke with my friend in Poland who lives on the border asking if she would be interested. She said she just has a fantastic story which is simply too big for her local paper so why not? So I came back to this American lady and told her: I got better idea, my friend will do it for you and, as she does not writes in English, I can translate it. She liked it, but now we have to sit at the zoom meeting with her and her editor (and they kindly allowed me…

Multiple interviews, recruiters, and long hiring processes can fuck right off.

RANT: I’ve always understood having the interview process, and even going through 1-2 interviews. But now it seems like you have to talk to the recruiter first, then you have 3-5 interviews. Then it takes weeks to interview and weeks to find out if you got the job/got an offer. Then you have to sign an offer (if you’re not ghosted after being told you’re their “prime choice”) and onboard. And if you’re looking at multiple options, you almost have to take off work to schedule all of these interviews. You’re giving the same answer to the same questions, just to different people, and hope they like you enough to choose you. And wtf is with some of these recruiters being late, interviewing you for the wrong job, and just seeming like they don’t have their shit together? It feels like these people are purposely wasting your time. Keep your…

I refuse to take another person’s shift.

I work the third shift, and there’s only one other third shift shift worker. We are understaffed. It’s expected if one person can’t make it, the other will take the shift. I refuse to do this. I work a second job, and my body requires sleep and rest. The only other overnighter is new and just started. She’s only been here for 2 weeks. She has called in sick twice now because “she hasn’t been sleeping.” Been there. Done that. Third shift is a hell of an adjustment and it’s not easy on your mind or body. When she messages me I either don’t answer or I tell her I can’t. If my boss ever attempts to pressure me I told myself I will just quit. It’s my bosses’ job to find staffing, and it’s not my job to rearrange my sleep schedule, other work schedule, or social life to…

Inflation is just wage depression

The price of everything is going up, corporate profits are still high, literally the only thing going down—the one thing all the other numbers are rising against—is the price of labor.

Has anyone realized that state Lotterys is the governments way of making extra money off peoples desperation not to be poor?

The Government basically took the concept of casinos and made it national.
