So this is an old story but I did not know of this sub when it happened. I worked at a bulk warehouse on nightshift and was one of the best employees. When people called in I was there, when a project needed doing I was their go to, and I moved more product than anyone else on staff. Fast forward 7 years and the company rolls out a new hiring wage that was 17 cents behind what I was making. Needless to say I was agitated by that. I figured if new hires we're almost making as much as me I have no reason to work as hard as I was and started taking it a bit easier, I was still doing more than most and definitely more than what is expected of other employees. Our contract clearly states if our shift start and end time changes, the whole shift becomes overtime. I was asked to come in early and stay late for my shift. Manager says my start and end time didnt change, my original shift is the same, what I did was I came in early and stayed late and overtime does not apply. L. O. L. Bonus: she said if they had to pay everyone who did overtime like this, the system would go bankrupt. Cool story bro now pay me correctly aka now I have to grieve it with the union and waste everyone’s time.

Is work supposed to leave you with panic attacks about making a mistake, you getting yelled at every shift, panic attacks about going in after an injury, making you feel stupid and not allowing you to fully train before making you work alone for a long time? If not what do I do?? I’ve only been at this job for a month. My parents swear that this is normal and I’ll get used to it and that I am strong enough to for this. But damn I feel like shit after work. I can’t seem to do anything right and no one will show me, all I get is text messages. I get yelled at the whole shift if my boss is there. I really don’t know what to do TIA

A friend of mine who usually works in construction only worked a single day and was fired at the end of the day because he brought his dog to the site. ​ The owner is refusing to pay him for the day's work, and when pressed to do so, is mocking him and implying physical harm if he attempts to collect payment. ​ Friend does have all of these messages, so we're hoping to get him to report said boss to the Industrial Commission and the BBB.

My wife works at a hospital in Tampa. About once a month they will buy them cupcakes, chips, or lay down bubble wrap so they can stomp on it for “Mental Health Week”. Then post on their Facebook page about how great it is to work at that hospital…. I took it upon myself to comment on every post like,”it would be a lot better if they got free health care from the hospital they work at” or “it would be nice if you payed your nurses more instead of giving them 3 dollars in snacks a month” A few months into it a doctor came up to my wife and said that they are threatening disciplinary action against her because of the disparaging comments I have made towards the hospital. I ended up deleting all my comments so that she wouldn’t be fired because she has worked there for…

I just want to buy a house. I hope everything crashes and we start seeing the rich jumping out windows. I hope all these “landlords” lose all ther investments. I just want a world we can actually survive in and its time for a restart. Well all b fine. Were already poor. Whats the worse that can happen? We become even more poor lol.
