I get that some stores lock the doors and let people out, but won't let people in. My shift ends at 10pm, I clock out at 10pm. Especially now, since the store cut everyone's hours and hardly anyone is getting over 16 hours a week, unless they're management. The store leader tries keeping in as many people as possible, whether on the clock or not, just because he wants to be in control that much longer. He's literally the only Store leader that does this. I started using the emergency exits whenever he's working, and he blows up my phone demanding where I'm at, and I just say I'm off the clock and he's not my boss right now. I'm starting to think I should just call the police, because isn't this false imprisonment or something else similar?
We were notified last week that management has decided that we will be returning to the office on April the 4th. Some fun information about that decision: In an internal poll, 80% of employees voted to never return We've been working from home for more than 2 years, and productivity is up. Randomly some departments are classified as Work from Work, some are Hybrid, and select few have been given permission to work remotely permanently. Three guesses who is in the latter category. For me personally, my office will be downtown, roughly 26 miles from my house. Company does not pay for parking, and when I checked lot prices downtown… surprise! Inflation hit those as well. Closest lot to work now costs $132 a month. I added up all my expenses and realized I will be out of pocket $500 a month from gas, lunch downtown, parking fees, etc. My…
Don't be a fool, wise up, stop working too hard. Your boss will never truly appreciate your hard work. Don't fall for nice words. They mean nothing. The moment you ask for a raise or a day off, you are the worst employee ever for your boss. Fuck 'em.
Two jobs ago (general admin role), I got called into a meeting with the General Manager and the lady a rank below him. This guy proceeds to tell me that I've taken too much unpaid leave, more than anyone in the company including people overseas, and that I need to stop. He also said in the same breath that he was 'disappointed with my output' and he is 'seriously concerned'. Me – “You are aware that every day of unpaid leave was for hospital appointments for my chronic pain and incurable disease? And only amounted to six half days at most?” Him – “Yes”. Me – “And that I'd checked with my immediate manager that we were ontop of the workload before booking these appointments?” Him – “Well, yes”. Me – “And that every single appointment I've scanned an emailed a letter directly from the hospital as proof, and have…
What is r/antiwork to you?
When I first noticed Antiwork a month ago, it was about unionization within PetSmart and through a few popular posts about mistreated employees who were asking for advice or have successfully stood up for themselves against shit bosses/employers. It was amazing to see because I’ve had fear standing up for myself before in risk of losing my job and income — the fear of being in debt or homeless since I believed I didn’t have the skills to find another job. The number of people who were fighting back helped me gain some courage, confidence, and the stories gave me awareness of what I can do or how I can deal with a shit work situation. I didn’t feel alone specially when people I knew in person would simply say in acceptance that “it’s like that everywhere” or “it’s just something you have to deal with” preventing me from trying…

Worst companies you’ve ever worked for?
Hello Everyone It Is Time
As of today, i’ve made up my mind, this will be my last week in this company i plan on either quitting or asking for a different position, the fact that made me realize this job was getting to me was that my friend called me earlier and i unknowingly read my call script, even after reading their name, i’ve been basically brainwashed at this point to respond to phone calls like that, i’m sick of calling people and stating that they have debts and for them to get upset and curse me out without me being able to say anything back, or when people call in saying that i’m ruining their “perfect credit” if it was so perfect why do you owe “xyz” you would have better track of your finances if it was true. i have enough money to take a 5 month break bills and emergencies included,…
I work in a government office as part of the head of office's legal staff. Recently, I was assigned the task of preparing memos, warnings, and other admin/discipline-related documents for erring supervisors. One of those supervisors was a division chief who, instead of explaining as he was asked, decided to verbally assault me, insult me, and try to intimidate me. Now our own union is protecting the division chief and excluding me.
I don't care. I even respect you less because all it shows is you're an empty shell of a person till the day you die. Now if you're bragging about playing elden ring, now we're talking. O.o.
