I should mention that we are a company of 30 employees/teachers who run private classes, and the contracts we get are very expensive and lucrative. Also, almost nothing of the money is paid to us. My boss who is an absolute tyrant has hired an HR manager who is looking for complaints and does absolutely nothing. We suspect he is cleaning house and wants to terminate those don't like it here.

I have a dear friend in Spain (Andalucía) who recently became disable. She had to undergo surgery and sadly, she cannot work as a nurse anymore. She started working as a nurse after a short two-years long course that was 100% free. No debt. Four years later she bought her own house, the mortgage is around €300 (Less than 30% of her mortgage) Now that she’s disabled, she’s entitled to disability benefits of around 60% of her salary FOR LIVE. On top of that, because of a law I don’t understand, her mortgage is now forgiven. So last week, I worked over 65 hours. I’m a salary exempt employee so fuck yeah I didn’t get overtime pay. I know I shouldn’t be complaining because I have a job and there are people working 16 hours a day but I chose to work 40 hours and maybe some change but to work this much and not get overtime and your boss not really caring how tired you are, fuck this place. I’m calling off tomorrow and get a doctors note to leave work longer. I passed out 2 weeks ago while working at 7 pm still and my anxiety and possibly passing out again may happen. Fuck this.

Hey y’all, long time lurker first time poster… wondering what your thoughts are on this. I recently got hired at a large university (USA). My start date wasn’t for several weeks (during which I was still fulltime at my old company). During this period I was expected to attend an hour long orientation training, as well as turn in my employment forms (w4, etc), set up my work email account, set up two-factor authentication etc… I’ve run into a bunch of tech issues with my devices and it’s taken me hours to figure out. I have to go to an appointment with HR to turn in the forms and have no idea if i will be getting paid for that either. I've made several comments here in the anti-work subreddit. However this is my first actual post here. I was given 10mg of Sprinkle turbo (I think?) THC at my local dispensary the other day. You mix it in a drink and it's supposed to work within 20 minutes. I'm no stranger to getting/being stoned, but I've never had the balls to do so while at work.
