I have a pretty good job that pays me well, that I am good at and I like, with flexible working conditions. But I joined this for the memes. Would also like to say that these screenshots or texts and DMs with crazy supervisors are appealing, but not that every job is like this…don’t get too discouraged I guess.
so i work in visitors services in a tourist state and its spring break right now, so basically hellish entitled people. so a woman tried to walk into my workplace without paying last night and when i said “maam you need a ticket to be in here, i need you to leave if you dont have a ticket” while following behind her to stop her from walking in further, she laid out this thinly vieled threat of “bad things happen to people who run up on people like that” and im like. you didnt pay fucking do it these ppl act like i wont lose my job over getting treated like shit and the spring breakers are always the worst and most disrespectful out of customers that come in. no class. she then left and walked over to my black coworker and started trying to get him to side with…

Its propaganda. They try to slave us into a mentality that its for the good of the country take your shit pay while these ceos get free ahit own everything and we get nothing. Why do we do it? To be tired to miss fun? To not afford to even do the job we are forced to do? Thia is insanity it has to stop. A majority of the world's population doeant own nearly the amount a few hundred people do
On my first day of work, i handed the paper to her. She had 3 weeks to file it and never did. She claims that she doesnt remember me handing it to her. Either she really doesnt remember, or just doesnt want to admit that she lost something with my BANKING INFORMATION on it. She can pull me aside for five minutes and tell me my shirt needs to be tucked in all the way around like some kind of geek But she cant spare a fuck to give about a piece of paper with sensitive information, that could end up in the wrong hands and financially ruin me. Best part? If something does happen, I have no proof of giving it to her. I cant tell any higher ups because its a long-time manager’s word against a month-old employee’s. If my next job requires a direct deposit slip, what…
You make more than us?
I am a socialist at heart and truely believe in 'from each according to their abilities to each according to their need'. I am Canadian and have had shit jobs that I had to keep much longer than I wanted to because I used to be a have not. After reading a lot of these posts I am so thankful for my countries labour laws. I have read about people having to work jobs that pay minimum wage with no benefits, working 12 hrs shifts with no breaks, getting fired over utter nonsense. I truly believe that the issue is directly related to living in a capitalist economy and democratic political system. How anyone could think that those two things fit well together is either dillusional or already rich. It allows for the rich to make the rules by lobbying and buying politicians. I have no clue how to effect…
I'm in a much better position now, but I definitely relate to the grinding capitalist pushback here. The UK is in many ways the U.S. of Europe – our legislation in terms of employment and annual leave is a lot less generous than many European countries (although I accept wholeheartedly that that's coming from a very western-European vantagepoint), and especially with the unbelievable rise in cost of living currently going on, I definitely relate to the stress and pressure that late-stage capitalism is putting on all of us right now. Having free healthcare is a MASSIVE advantage of course, and in general things like having guaranteed minimum annual leave/better job security legislation/less obsessive grind culture are obviously game-changing, but I still remember struggling in an entry-level job where my personal time was scrutinised to the minute and getting a mortgage on my £10hr salary was almost impossible. I know many…
