I hate bosses that act so cheap

My bosses already rack in so much money! They own a private practice and recently he hiked up some of the prices. Like why?? 1 days worth of work there could literally pay for my mortgage, utilities, HOA fee and groceries. They recently asked me to think of ways to save money. Motherfuckers drive teslas and act like they're broke. They also didn't give my coworkers raises last year! I'm so sick of their bullshit excuses and them treating my friend's incorrectly.

Asking for a bit of advice

Hello to my favorite sub, first time poster here. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a coworker situation. A coworker of mine has begun to send me essay-long, disrespectful, work related messages to my cell phone. The only reason she has my phone number is because I was helping her turn off the ring tone on her phone and called her to see if it worked (she saved my phone number after I called her, against my wishes.) What is a way I can respectfully tell her to stop messaging me? I don't want to be contacted about work on my time off and I don't want to take it to our boss if I don't have to. Thank you in advance. Edit: changed a few words

Should I work?

So I’m in the very fortunate position of not needing to work. But sometimes I feel like I should do something. Especially when I meet girls and they ask me what I do. I just tell them I’m an investor (which I am. But who isn’t these days?) I enjoy my free time and don’t want to be bossed around doing stupid stuff. I’ve been applying to jobs online and getting no responses. Should I keep trying to find something or naaaahhhh?

Company can afford unnecessary trip, but not health benefits… how can I bring this up?

Howdy folks. My company is planning a trip for all employees where all expenses will be reimbursed (airfare, food, gas, rental car, airport parking) but also there are expenses that are not transparent to employees (hotel, wine tasting, food, etc). But they don’t provide health benefits. Just by adding up the expenses I know, there is no issue with them spending over $1000 for employees and their significant other. A friend of mine also brought up the fact that the costs that are not transparent could be going to friends of the CEO who run businesses that provide those good or services so they can write those off on their taxes as business expenses. What makes all of this worse is that the company I work for does HR Research and brands themselves as the company to use to create an employee experience that job-seekers can’t resist. The CEO and…

Companies forcing back into office

I have noticed a trend in the recent past a LOT more discussion about companies removing remote/WFH work plans and having employees returning to work. I know many people attribute this to appear like a manager is necessary or maintain property values; and while these may be driving factors I don't think they're necessarily the actual reason seeing how we're now basically 2 years removed from people packed up they're computers to work from the dining room table. Lately as Anti-work and work reform have gained traction the corporate noise about returning to office has only gotten louder. Middle managers have still “proven” their worth to their bosses if they still have a job 2 years later – but we're seeing the push now coming from the VERY top not the middle. This is usually where one makes the argument about property values but honestly they only care about the…

Rant about my manager

I started following this subreddit right around it started to get hot and I really like all the posts about people shutting down their employers and making them beg. I live in a western European country so working conditions here are incredibly good but I will rant about my absolutely useless manager. I work at a startup and It is actually like a family, I am good friends with many of my colleagues. My manager is a different story. This guy goes from meeting to meeting to feel important (There was a meme posted here couple days ago that said something like “Don't have anything to do? Have a meeting, feel important, point at things” which described my manager so well) and during the rare times when he is not in a meeting he plays around in our product (we are a tech/entertainment company). Now, trying the product and playing…

Am I getting screwed by my organization?

37/female. Have worked for my hospital five-and-a-half years. Back story: I have a master’s degree (MLIS) BUT I acknowledge that my anxiety disorder (very real – needed inpatient care in 2013) has held me back. I need a job with low-to-moderate stress and no public speaking. I live in the Cincinnati/tri-state area. boyfriend but not married or sharing finances. I finally have a decent position here. By decent I mean no intolerable drama, no big brother atmosphere, no abusive management (I had all three in a previous role. Just to give you an idea, I previously had to enter a code into my computer to pee). So I carry the baggage of an absolutely hellish experience in my previously held internal role. I sometimes harbor a great deal of resentment, even though it’s all in the past. I’ve been promoted three times (plus one lateral move) since I’ve been here.…

Company wants me to replace a senior. As a junior, should I be upset?

So, my company hired me one year ago. I have been doing different kinds of things. My boss told me he wanted me to see a little bit of everything. My main task though had been doing something totally out of my field of carrier (degree) in which I wasn’t learning ANYTHING (I guess no one else wanted to do it). They decided then, 5 months after i was hired, that I would replace a senior (66 years old) that is going to retire soon. He has been doing this job for years and it’s in the IT area. A quite of large responsibility. He takes care of an entire activity that only him can do. Me and him would do some exercises, sometimes, because I had other (useless) stuff to do and he had too. The training has been really scarce for the amount of responsibility he has and…
