Who was the most troublesome, exhausting worker you ever had to manage, but ended up really paying off?

Repaying you by bringing big accounts, solving problems, etc

It is 11:13 at night. I haven’t been at work for the last two days.

I know this isn’t the most insane conversation ever, but it just happened and I need to tell SOMEbody who understands. This is my boss after months of counseling and frank discussions about her behavior. This is her being polite. Between her screaming, the insults, the midnight calls on my days off specifically to harass me, the 20-hour shifts, I can’t fucking take it anymore. Sorry, I can’t figure out how to post with pictures plus text on this app. https://i.imgur.com/HuuJTPS.jpg Oh — for context, the issue was that a square of cloth had yet to be inserted into a chair

A similar movement is needed in India

Since a long time, I've had the view point that Indians are very acceptable towards “oppression” for example, A few years ago the government announced demonetisation (they illegalised the most worthy ₹1000 and ₹500 notes that weren't deposited in banks) this led to MANY suicides and not much of protests (they did happen but not on a scale as people were scared or black/white earned money they lost as they didn't deposit in the banks) This was very unfair as during the time it happened, many people didn't even had a bank account because of lack of documentation now with the worker system in India, the minimum wages have been around (₹5000 pm = $67 pm) while costs of food electricity and education have been fluctuating all this time. According to the “government's” $67 pm, 80 million people live below the poverty line today in India. Now imagine how many…

Remember, no one at work is your friend.

There are rare exceptions, but don't think of anyone at work as a friend. I hate this, but I've learned to trust *almost* no one. Even people you've worked with for years. You'd think spending 40 hours a week with someone, through good times and bad would build a real friendship. Unfortunately, there are people that will stab you in the back, if they think they can get brownie points. Basically, don't say anything to a coworker that you wouldn't say to your boss. After getting burned a couple times over the years, I still have to catch myself becoming too chummy with coworkers.

Fake ass bosses

So, I’ve been at this company for nearly two years and have endured an incredible amount of emotional abuse from one of my bosses. I work maybe 55-60 hours a week, constantly on call after “work hours” and on weekends, so you can only imagine how burnout might come very quickly. I’ve put my heart and soul into this company and they seem to not care whatsoever. I’m in an industry where you’re expected to take care of certain emails as soon as they come in or as soon as something urgent comes up for a client, you drop everything to fix it. This is paired with management who over use and over work their assistants in the name of giving them “hands on experience”—-which includes a lot of personal tasks for your boss. I’ve been at this company for nearly 6 years and somehow still not making what I…

My boss laughed at me for visiting my dying grandma

Tldr at bottom. I mentioned this in a comment and people seemed interested so I thought I’d give it its own post. This happened a number of years ago, I was working retail for one of the biggest supermarkets around. My grandmother was late stages of dementia, and we were told to expect the worst to happen in the next few hours. So I called in to work that morning and said I was going to take time off that day to go and spend time with her. If I was ever going to call in sick, I’d make sure I did it before this manager started work, as he wouldn’t take no for an answer. I once got a hernia from work and he flat out refused to let me go to the hospital. Suggesting a glass of water and a 5 minute break would fix my issue. Anyway,…
