So as title says got a position 2 months ago as a team leader in chain retail shop , they employ only 3 people management full time and everyone else on casual , we were understaffed before I came ok board they promised to hire more , now we already were missing an assistant manager and was only manager and me and the casuals neither me or the manager had any issue with people that are late or had to leave early and liked a chill environment, hence manager get pissed with company that refuse to hire more stuff and quits , they send new replacement manager and she has made me and the casuals hate this place , non stop micromanaging busting everyone's balls if someone is 5 min late and the kicker is they pay just average with no real perks. This week they send 2 more management…

I work for Advent Health as a patient transporter. Basically my job is to move patients around the hospital to and from procedures, admitting patients from the ER, discharging patients, transferring patients. That sort of thing. In this role I see anywhere between 20 and 30 patients a day along with dozens of nurses, techs, doctors, and support staff. This is all to say I interact with a ton of people from day to day, many of whom are known to be infectious. I understand there is a risk built into the job and I'm glad to take it on. I know I won't have this job for the long term but I'm really glad for whatever help I can be as we keep struggling our way through this Covid mess. Last week I was exposed to Covid due to bad communication. The patient was stated to be non-infectious and…
This is going to be a long rant so I apologize in advance. To give some backstory I’ve been with this company for almost 7 years. The place I work at is a credit card company. Since Covid we are taking back to back phone calls and the customers we deal with are way angrier now than they have ever been before. I’m currently a supervisor so my normal job is dealing with angry people…..but lately it’s been mentally exhausting getting yelled at every day by people who either don’t understand how credit cards work or don’t understand basic math. Since Covid has started as well more and more people have been quitting and we have been short staffed in all departments. The company all of 2021 has been bragging about how “this is our best year of all time” with a record breaking profit of $5.4 billion (a 250%…
How do I get out of retail?
I'm absolutely sick to death of retail. I genuinely see myself unsubscribing from life if I have to do retail for even six more months. Retail is all I've ever done though. Does anyone who has escaped retail tell me how they did it? I have no degrees or certifications.
Anyone who says people don't want to work bc they are living it up on public assistance has obv never been on public assistance. I have drawn UI (unemployment) many times in my life due to the nature of my job and industry. I drew it pre covid, during COVID assistance, and even post covid assistance. My most recent time was just last month when I was out of work for 3 weeks. Let me tell you some fun facts about unemployment. -now I'm sure it varies state to state but these are my experiences in my state- IT CAN TAKE WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS FOR BENEFITS TO KICK IN. You apply for benefits as soon as you are no longer working. You fill out an application basically to be approved or denied. If nothing is wrong with your application then it really should only take a week, maybe two…
Lying Ass Companies
All us State Employees who are already over are getting a 3% raise in April and on July 1st a minimum of 4% or higher if you are below the salary restructure threshold. I love that our union fought so hard for this.
