I don’t want to work for these mother fuckers any more but I can’t afford medical… What do I do? Never dealt with WC So, I’ll preface by saying that I’m at a loss. I’ve never been in this position before and I don’t know what step to take. I’ve been on WC since mid November. At first it seemed like the company was good people. They wanted to help me get better and move back to my position. I herniated a disc in my lower back and it impinged on my sciatic nerve. After several months, they got to be tired of paying me so much for not being able to do my duties and having very limited restrictions. (It’s a very toxic environment) I started making significant progress in PT and low and behold they decided to have me do something outside of my restrictions. Guess what… my…
So I'm posting my story on why I went (private trade union / not government funded )union in my field and the difference in work environment it made in hopes to help anyone who's been back and forth about joining one. And I'd love to answer questions. So when I was 19 idecided to get my shit together after basicly being homeless and on drug I got a job at taco bell, got my license and a car for 700 bucks filed financial aid went to welding school, started at what supposed to be my first welding job for a semi truck repair buisness in the middle of school. Start there they wouldn't give me a weld test or anything, instead they give me the most labor intensive and hard to do tickets of putting on rub rails they give us a 5 dollar little safety medallion we're supposed to…

Is this wage theft?
I work at an unnamed giant corporation. My fellow supervisors rarely take their allotted half hour breaks (I nearly always do). We have an interim manager while our manager is on a month long leave of absence. She has apparently added punches to the other supervisors’ timecards to reflect the breaks they were scheduled to take, even though they did not take them and did work during that time. One of my coworkers had 3 full hours removed from her time worked. The manager say it’s because we were “required” to take these breaks, which I believe is only true for minors in the state of NJ. Is this illegal?
I live in an area that tornadoes are not uncommon. I was working at a pizza chain that offered take out only. The entire storefront was glass. The general manager was on vacation and we were told to contact the district manager if we had any problems. Myself and a shift manager were the only people working at the time as it was early afternoon, the slowest time of day for us. The weather forecast for that day was hot and clear with severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes about mid-day. The sky went from sunny and clear to black and downpour in the span of about 30 mins. We had the radio on to keep up with the weather broadcast. It started to hail and a tornado watch was called. I called the district manager to ask if we could temporarily close if a tornado warning was called so we…
I know this is “anti work” , but on a serious note, I need to find another job and preferably one that does not turn out to be sales. Ive worked from home the past 4 years and all I ever manage to land are sales positions that just eat away at my happiness until I'm back in my depression. Anyone know a good company that hires WAH agents for customer service or any branch of technical support from home? Something that's not gonna end up being a sales job or a debt collector please…
-Comission only, No hourly pay -Grueling, Arbitrary Scheduling done entirely through mandatory unpaid Draft meetings every week. People picked shifts one at a time in order based on their total sales from the previous week. This might have been okay, if they didn't A . Purposely not schedule enough shifts to go around B. Use Total Sales instead of Sales Per Hour which punishes you for taking a day off, or for having drafted your schedule in a later round the previous week. This results in a vicious cycle of drafting last, trying desperately to up your sales and killing it, only to be rewarded by drafting last again next week because 5 okay days of sales always beats 4 good days. Abusive time clock policies. If you are more than 7 minutes late, you have to give up a shift AND be sent to the bottom of the draft.…
So this lady got hired at my job in like summer 2021 and was an absolute nightmare. Hounding people, having other workers act as spies to report to her about what other people are doing, etc. multiple people have left because of her. she said to one guy “i don’t know how you are comfortable working less than 40hrs, you must sell drugs or something outside of work.” We are in different departments so our paths never really crossed…until a few weeks ago. I’m 26(f) in a fairly good position, and get along well with everyone. I don’t need to be told what to do everyday, and my manager is confident in letting me handle the floor while he handles the more administrative tasks. My manager flew down south to visit our other location. while he’s gone, she’s coming up to me talking about my weight, my appearance (i have…
