Boss shorting hours/stealing tips
My new boss/owner of the company has been shorting hours purposely for about two months, diddnt notice at first because we diddnt have access to paystubs, but when my paycheck was the exact same (to the penny) 3 checks in a row I knew something was up. I started asking the other manager/employees if it’s the same for them and sure enough it is. Then, he told us that “from now on, I will be charging each employee $100/month to accept tips to cover cc processing fees” so I looked up what the law was and the law states he’s only suppose to charge what our cc processing fee is on the tips, and that 100 a month is about 25% of our tips (on a good month) then I finally got access to the paystubs and noticed that he’s clocking me out at 8:00 on the dot every day…
Positive for opioids
This is my first time posting, sorry if it's too long and for any grammatical errors! I recently accepted a part-time job offer for $18 an hour. As a college student I feel like this is a great deal! Like with any job I have to take a drug test, which is no big deal just another thing I have to do. The place where I have to go take said test is the most dingiest shady clinic in town. No problem though, I do my thing and go on my way. That was about almost two weeks ago, I receive a phone call at school today from the HR department from the company and they told me my drug test came back positive for opioid and that it was 4 times the amount that it should be for a regular person. They proceeded to tell me that because of…
Keep the conversation going and keep being vocal. Support unions and fight for workers’ rights. My current company is raising salaries, looking to introduce more flexible hours, and changing hiring practices to post salaries and provide more clarity during the hiring process. Corporations are starting to feel pressure now that potential employees have the power. Some of the things that have been most impactful have been asking early in the interview process about the salary and declining if not within an acceptable range. Also, tell companies why you won’t accept the job. Use their greed against them. Please keep demanding more!
That’s it. That’s the post.
Good effing question!
A name, phone number, and relationship to the person is enough. I do not know where my prior coworkers or bosses live, nor should you as the employer care.
My new ice cream company.
So my idea is let’s market Capitalism real for each individual in the ice cream shop not just the owner. The whole store will have designated pools for money. Expenses paid first then % for expansion % for owner % for workers % for research The whole idea is to split things up in a % model. Everything is based on the sale of the ice cream! % is paid out to everyone in a transparent way on the blockchain or something.
