Ponzi scheme
Identity politics of Red vs Blue is irrelevant to the topics of anti-work. Anti-work is about culture at the local level. It's about the over-population, humanitarian crisis where smart and able-bodied people have fewer and fewer good jobs being created and available to them. Red and Blue both fall victim to rewarding their largest financial supporters first and being first focused on engineering ways to continue to remain in power, leaving the little guy to fend for themselves. What got us here, won't get us there. Red and Blue have both gotten too big to get us to a better place. They both try to please everyone, so now they can't please anyone. So it's up to you to create your own destiny. Edit : Starting point of discussion here should be that red states are incentivized to drum up voter participation by any means possible to get representation in…
Okay so I'm on an desktop computer running latest Windows with updates, latest Chrome browser with updates (but I also tried testing it on latest Firefox, Edge, Opera) and even though I have paid for Netflix “4k” (coming out at more than $20 USD a month) nothing is true 4k at all! It is very compressed and I would say not even real 1440p (2k) quality, much less 4k! And no its not my machine/computer, I have Intel Core i9-9900k with RTX3080 GPU and 64GB of RAM/memory. I can play almost all new PC games on ultra settings at 4k with and have a 4k monitor etc… Its not my home internet speed either, speedtest I get consistent down of more than 200Mbps, which while isn't the fastest in the world, is still enough for me to play Google Stadia game streaming directly in the Chrome browser for…
Is my boss menopausal or?
I am a woman, btw. So, my boss is like 45 or something and a little demonic goblin at work. Soon as I clock in, I get yelled at because I repeat something back to her to confirm, there is no indication of tone in my voice. I just want to remember what she told me. Split second later she smiles and says today is going to be a great day! This is happening to me and every employee every single day. I work in Orthopaedics as the front desk and she is taking forever to fully staff the office so she has to basically work 3 jobs. Not my fault. Not anyone's but her own. Anyway, when I lived with my mother, she went through menopause around 37. It was hell. So much screaming and aggressiveness over the smallest things. I stayed away and locked myself in my room.…

Politics and the labor movement
Teddy Roosevelt did more for the American working man than most other presidents and he was a conservative. A progressive yes. But a conservative non the less. It’s about the individual not their party. Roosevelts presidency occurred in a time very similar to our own. In Teddys day large corporate moguls ran the country. Elites such as Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan had effectively bought their own president (McKinley) and had used their influence to shore up political control in Washington. They bought large shares of news paper companies forcing stories that touted these titans of industry as saviors of the American work force. Any of this sound familiar? In that time men and women were working 6 days a week sometimes 12-16 hours a day. Living in tenement housing and barely scraping by. Unions were crushed (sometimes violently) and whistleblowers were silenced. It was hazardous to speak about labor reform.…
It sure would be nice if we stopped trying to label this group with anything other than antiwork. People can come in with no preconceived notions about political leanings. If they agree with what they're reading then they can contribute to the cause. Honestly the issues should speak for themselves without needing any labels, especially political ones. There are a ton of issues brought up in this group that can be agreed upon by people from all over the political spectrum. By identifying with a political group, we are needlessly excluding plenty of people who could potentially get onboard. Edit: To be clear: Just exclude political labels. Literally JUST DON'T SAY DEMOCRAT OR SOCIALIST. Even if it clearly is. Because plenty of people see the label and move on when they may in fact agree with the messages contained within. Be anti bigot, be anti racist, be equal rights. Just…
How to take an extended month off work?
Pretty much the title sums it all. I’ve been stuck working full time and going to school full time and I’m getting a tad depressed that I have 0 life. I am graduating spring and just want to go and travel for a month and see all of my friends. Any way I can take a month off work? Has anyone here tried this before and did you succeed?
