I’m prolly gonna get downvoted first this but I’m just wondering what the point of this sub is? What is it accomplishing? All I’ve seen is (rightful) bitching at employers and I guess I just don’t understand…. So what IS antiwork?
I had a great job that I really enjoyed. It was pretty low pay, but it was literally 50 applicants per position. I got in as a college internship. I got paid like $600 a month, but I got free housing, and per diem for days worked my first year. It was what it was. I was young and didn’t have many expenses. Then I was hired on as a seasonal employee for the next 5 seasons, (basically April through September). I started at $13.49 and made my way up to $15. Clearly valued employee
Managment told us we would be running a contest to see who could sell the most protection plans on furniture and electronics item with the top 2 employees winning “expensive” grand prizes. Worked harder than normal and to be honest harder than i should for the wage i am paid, and came in second me a new employee sold the second most number of plans. How did my gracious company, whom i single handidly just made thousands of dollars, show appreciation for the…
Gaps in your resume? Lie.
The best way to answer questions about gaps in your resume is to lie, and lie big. “I was backpacking through eastern Europe working as a freelance blacksmith and studying local farm culture.” “Oh that year I was living with the Pygmies in New Guinea filming an amateur documentary about tribal water wells.” The bigger the lie, the more it sounds like the gaps were important self-work being done. This theory is based on absolutely nothing.
Tim Hortons asking for written notice
