Cost of living & work life balance
Seriously, greater Nashville, TN area here… to afford an apartment by yourself one needs to be making closer to $25 an hour. Will there ever be a time again where people can work 25-30 hours a week and be able to afford a home, basic utilities. I’m not even talking about a fancy lifestyle just to be able to survive. Literally have a family member who makes $26 an hour (works 4 10s) and has to work and overtime day twice a month to make ends meet, want to do anything extra, work additional OT. Literally said once student loan payments restart they will have to move back in with their parents because they won’t be able to afford to live on their own anymore, and hell they are just barley getting by without even factoring student loans yet 🤦️
hello 'third world country' resident here , im seeing all of these posts all over the internet about how there is great resignation thing going on in US and it sounds pretty cool but why the hell did you tolerate the bullshit before for so long that is beyond me . But as mentioned in the title the people who are quitting do you have money saved up or relying on family for financial support ? like what is the backup plan ? or these people are just immediately looking for new jobs? There are articles saying that companies aren't really hiring people they are just complaining that they are short staffed ?

Chick-fil-A
Greetings antiworkers. Any of you have an idea why the employees at Chick-fil-A seem so happy all the time? Not only that but the food is good and my order is always exactly right. They are never out of anything… And the overall experience is always great. I imagine they aren't paying much more than other restaurants… So what's the deal? Lol I didn't mean for this to sound like propaganda… It's hard for me to actually believe that they somehow make a ton of money while having a crap ton more employees that are making above average wages
Goal of this sub
Hi all, Not trying to troll or criticize, I am just trying to learn more about the goal of this sub. The description says that this sub is for “those who want to end work” and “want to get the most out of a work-free life”, so I take this as being the goal. I'm just wondering what ideas there are to achieve this goal? Although an individual may free themselves from work (by saving up enough money and living within their means), I don't see how society itself can actually “end work” without society collapsing. I just want to know what you all think is the best way (or a good way, or A way) to achieve this goal. Or what are some things you guys have been doing to work towards “ending work”. Very curious to know 🙂
