It’s snowing, both my fiancé and me have flat tires, and now my boss is trying to come pick me up because “one person called out and one is late.”

So me and my fiancé never call out during storms, we’re always there no matter how bad it is outside. Now suddenly we have to and my employer is acting like we do this every time. Frankly I don’t want to take an Uber in and I don’t want to get in a car with my sketchy boss I barley know, especially because he hasn’t provided how I’m supposed to get home. When I asked how I’m supposed to get home. He ghosted me.

New place that hired me seems sketch

I recently got hired at this bar. I only have serving experience and they were bartenders only but they said they would train me. They told me to come in for a few hours the next day after hiring me. My first day, no paper work and I end up being on my own, helping as needed, not much training goes on. They pay me 60 bucks at the end of the day for 7 hours? I mentioned to someone that I never clocked in which I thought was odd (or did paperwork) I was essentially doing the other bartenders favors / whatever they needed. I didn’t get trained really even, but I digress. The person I mentioned clocking in to, said we don’t clock…

Saw this on Facebook. Work doesn’t pay enough money to buy assets, so in other words, you’re born a slave and you have to work indefinitely for your “freedom”.

I’m just kind of frustrated

I like my job, it pays not quite a living wage, at $20-21/hour ($16.50/hour with tips adding up to $3-4/hour on average.) I sit at a counter, and I deal with often more money than I see in a year because I’m dealing with drunk people with fuck you money. It’s Casino work, and there’s nothing wrong with it. I got poked by a friend with a WFH opportunity that pays the same, but untipped ($21 an hour) that just allows me to work on side projects when I have time. I work Graveyard shift currently, and am asleep during human hours normally. I can’t leave my current job because I’ve been sort of housed (defined here as not crashing with a friend or parents) for the last year or so, and I’m trying to get into housing. Housing is just fucking expensive. I can afford up to $1000/month in…
