We noticed participation has decreased, though whether due to layoffs or malaise we can’t be sure. While the survey is anonymous, if you filled the comment boxes with These questions suck or Stop wasting my time, we probably know who you are, especially if you mentioned your division, duties and job description, and even more so if you signed your name. We’re sorry you’re suffering, but we doubt work caused your divorce. We’re also dismayed by demands for better leadership. While you’re welcome to select Somewhat or Not at all in response to Do you find management effective?, we’d like you to imagine how that makes us feel. Perhaps it was insensitive to ask which of your coworkers are seeking other jobs, but we really need an estimate. If you left that question blank, it’s not too late to pass some names along. The news isn’t all bad. Even with…
I need help quitting my first job
So, firstly, feel free to skip if you’d like but, I feel awful because I haven’t been in this job for too long. maybe a month? i’m scared that i will quit and find another job with a similar workplace or a place that doesn’t want me because i quit my first job really quickly Anywho, Im a hostess at a restaurant. I want to make a formal two weeks notice. But how do I do that? Do i send an email, write a letter, just have a meeting with my manager? I already know I want to give it to the general manager and somewhat an idea of what I would say. Is it okay to layout the reasons of why I want to go? Or should i just be brief? I want them to know how I feel, but I don’t want any bad blood. Any advice is…
I work M-F, 8hr day shift. Am I missing something? Some of the companies in my area only offer swing. Week 1: Days Week 2: Afternoons Week 3: Midnights Rinse and repeat. What's the tactic? Why can't these companies just hire the people who prefer day, mid, or night?
Where is that sweden vs america graphic?
Help me find it. It shows time off, life span, 37% vs 38.5% tax
I saw someone else’s post
I struggle with tagging people, but a saw a post from someone down in the States offering references. As a Canadian I'd like to do the same for people north of the border. Message me for my contact information. I'll do what I can to help you out!
So, back in my old job (with I quit while my boss was on vacation to go to a better opportunity after 1 year of moral abuse, I may tell you guys in other post…) My boss ruled by comparison with himself. “When I worked at…..” And “My team knew half of what you know and made more…” Where common things to hear in my daily life. But there's one thing that pissed me off. He just spend all of his days looking at fishing videos instead of working, and the job that was supposed for him to do was just passed down to me and my teammates. Long history short, I was even putted to do presentations for his brother (who worked for another company) while he did his daily thing, just to receive a comment such as “when I was your age I worked 12 hours and did…
There are a lot of people asking how to get more money, wealth or comparing socioeconomic classes. A better question could be what would I need to feel wealthy? How much money do I need? Etc And then subsequently asking why? And to the response of that why? And why again until the true answer is received. That answer is the answer to the question we haven’t thought to ask and it will be what changes everything. Change yourself=change the world. Thanks
Creepy Micromanager advice
I currently do graphics for a warehouse that sells candy and other things you’d find in a gas station. My boss is a dick and micromanages the employees he doesn’t like (me for example). To give some context: I was promised an office upon hiring but that was revoked because I spent 15 minutes in the restroom on my first day. I initially used my phone to take photos of the product, great spreadsheets, etc which was very productive and helpful to the job (I had to create my own systems since there were none in place already), but he’s banned me from using my phone now because he doesn’t like seeing it? I do most of my work in a back office (the one that was supposed to be my office) and initially this gave me a bit of privacy where I could discreetly listen to some music while…
