I have no evidence except I'm the newest person in a position that has a high turnover rate apparently. In the last year 2 or 3 ppl have held my position and left or were fired. It's a small company maybe 20 ppl and most of them are related somehow. Ill also admit I was on indeed looking at pet sitting jobs the other day (part time) and I think the bosses daughter saw me. And today I heard the boss saying something like “she spends too much time on her phone.” For the record, everyone is on their phones all the time. So, just saw a job posting that I am (for the most part) qualified for. It is an electrician apprenticeship/helper position and I match 95 percent of the qualifications. The pay isn't great, but that's to be expected for a “helper” position. That isn't the point though…. the point was the FINAL qualification. “Eligible candidates must have TWO to THREE Years of residential wiring experience?!?!” Am I wrong to assume that they are basically asking for COMPLETLY qualified people to be “apprentices” for $16.00 per hour??

Last year I quit my job because my boss threatened me and said he would kill me and beat me up the next time he saw me. All this because I said I was unhappy with the position. I wanted to peacefully leave but no, he had to put on a show. I immediately quit and left on the spot. Spent a good part of a year living off savings. Sorry this is just me venting. I work at a grocery store and it's literally the most miserable, soul draining, annoying job I've ever had. I'm saving for school so I can't afford to be unemployed and I'm waiting to be hired somewhere else before I can quit. Somehow applying to jobs feels exhausting and even though I hate this place I keep picking this job over things that are more important to me. I wish I knew why I'm like this and why I care about being liked at this place. Even during family emergencies I can't bring myself to call off and I hate myself for it.

I've been at a shitty job for close to three years and everytime I've come close to doing something about it, I chicken out then I discovered this sub. I've asked for a raise thrice in the past with no acknowledgement but I think I know better now. On Monday I'm sitting with my immediate supervisor and if I don't hear anything positive, I'm quitting on the spot. I deserve a better future, I refuse to be a fool anymore! Organizational changes happened, and my team was reduced to 4 people, meaning I would be on-call once every four weeks.
