I’ve been at this small company over four years. About a year ago we were acquired by a larger company. Long story short, new management took a look at our department’s workloads and processes and promised “market rate” raises and promotions to align with our duties. Ok great. I received a promotion and title change to manager level in April but the raise was not even close to “market rate.” I even asked for more at the time and the HR boogeyman said no. It’s about $20k short. The same company I work for is posting new openings at my level with pay range transparency and I know what I should be making. I talked to my direct manager and she said using another offer to get a raise is not a bad play. However, I’ve been interviewing at other companies on and off for over a year and have…
Thinking of work tomorrow makes me cry
Been working at my company for almost 4 years (management position) and it’s a startup. This means most of the time it’s dysfunctional, linear titles and roles, and you have to wear a shit load of hats to keep things afloat. It was good the first 2 years and fun, you barely report to work physically and most of it is online. I loved being able to contribute so much and be viewed as the “golden employee” by my boss. Now all I feel is anger going into work, feeling resentment that everyone depends on me to clean shit up all the time. I get massive migraines every morning and have gotten into the habit of waking up crying and gagging, hating work and everyone, ending the day gagging and crying again (scrolling through burnout and suicide reddit posts and crying some more). At this point, i’m not sure what…
Boss said I “threw him under the bus”
I recently a made a post about putting in my 2 weeks and I mentioned to my CEO that “ I just wanted to let you know that managers name has mentioned multiple times that I am easily replaceable and I just wanted to give him that opportunity to do so” I didn’t think my CEO was actually going to say something to him because of just how this company is. She told him and he is giving me the cold shower. But he told one of our office workers who is cool with me and she said “ I threw him under the bus” What bus? The one you created??

Attention “Don’t Miss A Day” Workers
Hi, This is a friendly reminder to ” don't miss a day” workers. Respectfully, fuck off. Stop talking shit about other workers who take their sick days. Whether they're sick or not, not your business or your concern. Then, you have the audacity to tell others, “Oh, I bet they're not really sick, during hurr.” What's the point of doing that? Proving you're a dipshit asshole? Do you get extra brownie points? Are they going to give you an increase wage and bonus? Mind your own business seriously. You don't know what an individual is going through and why they need to take off and most importantly, IT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS! These dumbass fools conditioned this badly.
Job Interview and Time-Ofd
I have 4 days of Vacay, and 5 of Sick Days. Would rather not use Vacay for an interview. What's ethical in this situation? Would you use a sick day, and if so, how would you go about wording the excuse? Open to input. Maybe I should just use a vacay half-day.
Just a small rant about pay
I'm looking at job postings and it (kinda) blows my mind that they are offering food service, some nurses, front desk agents, security officers, activity aides, warehouse workers, pet sitters, literally everything around me all the same pay for “only” $10-$13 an hour. I cannot believe they are paying hospice and other end of life workers so little(slight /s). There is no difference in what job you take around here so we're all fighting for the same stuff. I say only because it's insane it forces all of us into the same boat unless you have an insurance license, some type of high end sales, or certified medical anything, which is also cost prohibitive where I live. I kept looking at a cosmetology license and the most reasonable one is going to cost 12k without interest loans. Nevermind rising costs of everything. It has gotten to the point where eating…
