So those temp places or in healthcare when they bring in nurses or whatever that are with a separate agency….how much does the company pay the agency hourly? Like…if the person makes $20 through the agency, then the business is paying more than $20 to the agency, but what's the standard?
I take 3-5 days off a month
How often do you? I work as net admin at a call center for business establishments and I find myself calling off from work 3-5 times a month. I just can’t handle all the work (43 hours a week, sometimes more) and I just can’t seem to care enough to get a full paycheck in order to give all those hours. Today included. So how often do you skip work?
Such a terrific tree
I know I’m luckier than many; bc I almost always have 2 days off at some point during the week- just not in a row. It’s really messing w/ my mental health. My social life is in the gutter; and I can’t ever go camping (being w/ friends & being in nature are prob the most important things in my life). After an incredibly long, shitty winter (I live in Minnesota); it’s looking like I’ll be just as isolated and stuck indoors for the spring/ summer. I’ve tried telling them that l’m not available on weekends; I’ve tried asking them to switch my schedule around so I can have two days off in a row even if neither are on the weekend; and they’re just not hearing it. All I can think about; all day every day; is walking out & never speaking to any of these people ever again.
On Thursday night my company laid off 100 people on a 130 member team. Basically everyone who wasn’t middle management or higher. Friday I finished a project 200 hours before the schedule. Tonight, Sunday, I was told they’re going to make me use my pto and sick time, so I’m being paid my full wage. But under my state law, if I’m being made redundant, I would get that in a lump sum and be on unemployment. So basically my job no longer exists but I can’t file for unemployment yet. Luckily I have a final interview at another company on Wednesday, because I’d heard rumors that this was coming. I’m not really looking for solutions, just venting. My only advice for everyone is, always keep your options open. These business owners/share holders don’t give a fuck about you. So don’t feel any kind of loyalty to them. I could…
